Now that voting has ended, has anyone seen via twitter or instagram how any of them voted for Lead Actress. I know sometimes peoople mention which way they voted, etc… If so, can you all post who you think voters are leaning more twoards?

I will say that this is one category where you can NOT predict a winner. With everyone eligible to vote, it really could go either way. Gold Derby has Viola winning and I’m not really sure why they’re so sure of this win. Not saying that she doesn’t deserve to win, just wondering… BUT I remember that during the Golden Globes, the editiors and most “experts” predicted her to win there as well.

Hopefully this helps answer your question/request.

Entertainment Weekly’s latest issue (dated September 21) featured a Secret Emmy Ballot article featuring four industry insiders/voters.  The voters included a director, a sitcom writer, a showrunner, and and actress.  They discussed the six biggest categories, including both series races and the four lead acting races.

As is prone to happening in acricles like this, the answers were all over the place and the reasons given were all over the place as well.  The series races were all over the places with each insder having a different pick for each genre.

The drama acting races seemed to prefer Jon Hamm and Viola Davis with each getting two mentions.  The comedy acting races favored Julia Louis-Dreyfus while four different men revieved mentions in the lead comedy actor category.

Also prone to happening with articles like these and in popular voting systems, the reasons given were pretty random as well.  Everything from “I’m friends with them” to “I like her hair color” were given as reasons for voting for something.

Granted these are only four members of an 18,000 member academy, so articles like these should always be taken with a grain of salt.  Not to mention not every member votes for every category and we have no idea who is and isn’t voting for these awards, so I am not putting too much stock into this article.  But articles like these are always fun mindless fodder, so there is always that.

Except for Jon Cryer putting Jon Hamm in his first place there is nothing on twitter or instagram I’ve seen.
