At Saturday’s Creative Arts Emmys, there were five categories presented that Gold Derby was predicting in our predictions center: all four guest categories and reality host.
So… which group of guessers — Experts, Editors, Users or Top 24 Users — scored the most correct overall? Here’s the rundown.
EXPERTS – 4/5 (missed Morton)
EDITORS – 5/5 (perfect score)
USERS – 3/5 (missed Morton and Lynch)
TOP 24 USERS – 3/5 (missed Morton and Lynch)
Surprised by these results? Keep in mind, the Editors actually watched all of the episode submissions, which is likely why they came out on top.
I only missed Morton but he was my 2nd place. I hope that track record transfers to the other categories, if not better.
I was stupid in believing that Laverne Cox could beat Aduba. I just abandoned logic on that one. I have therefore looked at my other predictions and just abandoned the really bad or sentimental predictions. I guess I’m playing it safe, but obviously that can have its benefits too.
I love how pretty much no matter what, year after year, the editors are always better predictors than the supposed “experts.”
I figured the “Experts” would miss Morton because they don’t watch the episodes like we do, but I’m surprised the Top 24 users and Users only scored 3/5. Shame for not listening to our slugfests since the majority of us gave you Morton there.
The Editors were wrong a lot last year, so I don’t blame anybody for going their own way. This year, however, looks to be heading in the right direction for the Editors so far…
Hey, this Top 24 user got ’em all right! I’m waiting until the primetime telecast before I make a fool of myself (especially with the potential leaps in Cranston and Josh Charles).
Looking back, though, I’m actually pretty surprised that only 4 of the Top 24 went Morton’s way. Beau Bridges just seemed so restrained that I’m not sure how he could’ve prevailed.
I actually got all correct besides Aduba (which was 2nd in my list). I went out on a limb to predict Cusack cos it was her 4th consecutive nomination in the role and thought that it’s possible she would get placed in the top half to push her way to a win.
