Who is your favorite Emmys host since 2000? And why?

For me, it’s gotta be Jimmy Fallon. He was equal parts entertaining and charming, and that opening “Glee” number set to Bruce Springsteen and featuring actors from every network (including the CW!) was one of those iconic TV moments that you just had to watch again. And again.

Same. It was my first Emmys and that opening is the best i’ve ever seen.

Ellen 2001. Just for the line “What would bug the taliban more than seeing a gay woman in a suit surrounded by Jews.” She also set the perfect comedic tone for a grieving nation.

Jimmy Fallon, followed by Conan O’Brien. NPH was probably one of my favorites for his 2009 showing (which was desperately needed after the disastrous year with the reality show hosts), but his 2013 stint was a pretty flat affair.

Definitely Fallon. The opening was fantastic, as well as the tribute to the shows that ended that year.

Yes! I still think about the 24/Law & Order/Lost tribute on occasion and chuckle to myself.

I also have to say Fallon. Honourable mentions to Conan O’Brien and Neil Patrick Harris. In terms of openings, Conan’s going between the shows was the best I’ve seen, but as a massive Springsteen fan, I can’t even pretend to be impartial. Born to Run all the way.

For me it’s Ellen Degernes in 2005 then Jane Lynch and Conan in 2006.

Yup I agree with Fallon all the way. NBC were morons not letting him host last year. Seth Meyers was such a misfire on their part. Fallon did what every host should do, keep the show moving and with those little musical segments dividing each genre that’s what he did. The Glee number is the best opening to any award show I have ever seen, his monolouge was wonderful, and his tribute to Lost, Law and Order, and 24 was beautiful.

If I’m not wrong, Fallon passed on the gig which is why they went to Myers. I can’t be sure where I read it. Might be from here.

Fallon sure is one of my favourites of recent years. Conan O’Brien is also one of my fav hosts. Love seeing him pop-up during NPH’s recent stint. Ellen is also one of the better hosts of the current years.
