Will this be a Limited Series entry? I know that the second season is going to be much longer, but I can see this compete in the Limited Series category for it’s first season.
Because then I would consider this in the following categories:
Outstanding Limited Series for “Pilot” & “Not Fade Away” & “The Good Man”
Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie: Kim Dickens for “Pilot”
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie: Rubén Blades for “Cobalt”
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie: Elizabeth Rodriguez for “The Good Man”
Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie or Dramatic Special: Kari Skogland for “Not Fade Away”
Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie or Dramatic Special: Meaghan Oppenheimer for “Not Fade Away”
Also for some creative categories.
What do you think?
Why would this be eligible for Limited Series and not Drama Series? It’s already renewed for a second season containing the same cast, characters, and plotline, so it’s in no way, shape, or form a Limited Series.
Additionally – if The Walking Dead could never catch on with Emmy voters, I see no reason this series would either. It’s had a lukewarm reception (66 on Metacritic) and lower viewer turnouts than the core series currently has. I see no nominations in general for this series, unless it sneaks into Makeup or any other smaller creative categories (and while not a terrible show, I don’t think it deserves any nominations either).
It’s in Drama Series according to the rules, and its chances are less than zero.
