FX announced today that Season 2 of “Feud” will focus on Charles and Diana. You know what that means, right? Emmy bait! Let’s cast it. Who are your realistic dream choices to play these iconic figures?February 28, 2017 at 9:41 am #1202026061
Naomi Watts as Princess Diana. (They’ll give this to Sarah Paulson)February 28, 2017 at 10:29 am #1202026107

This could be disastrous. We all know Ryan Murphy is going to cast far too many US actors for the roles. I bet he gets Gwyneth Paltrow to play Diana as she’s done British before (Shakespeare in Love) as is just about in age range.
My dream casting would be Carey Mulligan as Diana, Julie Walters as The Queen, Jim Broadbent or David Bradley as Phillip and Maggie Smith or Angela Lansbury as The Queen Mother. Charles is trickier casting as someone like Jude Law would be too obvious- frankly I’d probably like an unknown British actor to take it on.February 28, 2017 at 10:43 am #1202026124
They’re gonna cast Gwyneth Paltrow (her british accent was quite brilliant in Emma, Sliding Doors and SIL) and either Clive Owen or Jude Law although they’re probably be unavailable because of their own shows filming.February 28, 2017 at 10:46 am #1202026127
Yeah I should add that I wouldn’t be opposed to Paltrow. I am one of the few who loved her in Shakespeare in Love and she was also great in Emma.February 28, 2017 at 10:49 am #1202026131
Matthew Goode for Charles. And since they had Sarah do a British accent, I can see her as Diana. My thing is that they are going to have all of Ryan’s projects out next year. This, Katrina, Versace, and AHS. Ryan and Greg Berlanti will be in a death match of who will be the busiest kween in the industry.February 28, 2017 at 10:54 am #1202026137
When it comes to ACS and Feud anthology series they’re going for current or former movie stars. They’re aiming big so as much as Ryan loves Sarah he won’t cast her as Diana.February 28, 2017 at 11:33 am #1202026165
I know Naomi Watts was already Diana in a movie, but I heard she was good and looked a lot like Diana; maybe he’ll consider casting her?February 28, 2017 at 12:03 pm #1202026175
Emily Blunt. Emily Blunt. EMILY BLUNT. She is British and is about the same age as Diana when she was married to Charles.February 28, 2017 at 12:05 pm #1202026180
Maybe one of the Fiennes brothers as Charles? Ryan has worked with Joseph before but I think Ralph would be equally amazing.February 28, 2017 at 12:11 pm #1202026189
Emily Blunt. Emily Blunt. EMILY BLUNT. She is British and is about the same age as Diana when she was married to Charles.
I see it now. This must happen.
Yep, she was brilliant when she portrayed the young Queen Victoria! She gets the accent spot on.February 28, 2017 at 12:50 pm #1202026217
For me, casting depends largely on the story line and timing, especially for Charles in the 90s. He was looking decidedly middle aged at that point. Not Hollywood middle aged, but monarchy middle aged. Jude Law is a little too handsome or boyish for that role. I would go for someone a little unexpected. Like Charles Shaughnessy i.e. Mr Sheffield from the Nanny. Not that he is NOT good looking, but his face has a distinguished face. I know that will never happen in a million years, but that is my dream casting.
