What are your thoughts on Ryan Murphy’s new FX limited series “Feud”? Susan Sarandon is Bette Davis and Jessica Lange is Joan Crawford in the eight-episode series about their feud on the set of “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?”May 5, 2016 at 12:15 pm #1201825367
The cast looks amazing and I can see at least 5 acting nominees already.
FX is doing an amazing job with this anthology series but with Ryan Murphy being busy with this and ACS, I don’t think AHS will see a 7th season, which is the only sad part about this news.May 5, 2016 at 2:06 pm #1201825398
If it is a similar situation to OJ, where he and Falchuk aren’t writing it, and he is just directing, then I think it will be fine. But I dont see how this can be interesting for 8 episodes. But you can’t go wrong with Lange and Sarandon
Give Paul Thomas Anderson an Oscar.May 5, 2016 at 2:20 pm #1201825403
I look forward to episode eight where Lange as Crawford with a evil smile will accept the Oscar for the absent Anne Bancroft, thus stealing the media attention Davis so desperately desired with a third win on what would be her final nomination.May 5, 2016 at 4:13 pm #1201825445
The onscreen feud will probably be great, but I’m more thrilled that these two actresses will duke it out for the lead actress Emmy.May 5, 2016 at 4:31 pm #1201825459
Joan was hammy as it was in real life so I definitely don’t see an issue Jessica Lange playing her because she can chew the scenery right. So can Susan Sarandon when she wants to.May 5, 2016 at 5:18 pm #1201825465
I legit had to pinch myself when I first read about this. Can’t wait!

Lange and Sarandon, plus Judy Davis! Wow, sounds like it’s right up my alley. Judy Davis is always excellent (I know the focus of the show sounds like it’s going to be on Lange and Sarandon, but I’m sure Davis will knock it out too).May 5, 2016 at 8:21 pm #1201825481
I love both Lange and Sarandon to pieces, but they like Davis and to an extant Crawford all have very particular ways of talking that they rarely ever completely let go of if they try at all. Sarandon played a cajun nun in her oscar winning work and no cajun accent happened. I’m hoping they get some help figuring out the Davis and Crawford speech.
Maybe they’ll have an episode or two dealing with “Hush, Hush…Sweet Charlotte” with Crawford/Lange hamming it up in a hospital bed while everybody waits for her in Louisiana.May 5, 2016 at 9:19 pm #1201825488
Lange and Sarandon competed for the Oscar once together. Hopefully Ryan gets the hint and hires Swank and Bening or possibly Bates and Huston they can play fictional Hollywood rivals. Happy for Judy Davis. And I think the TV Academy will finally give Sarandon her elusive Emmy.May 5, 2016 at 11:25 pm #1201825519
Should be great if Murphy doesn’t get in the way. When does it start?May 6, 2016 at 6:15 am #1201825552
I’m ok with this but not super excited. Over the top campy Ryan Murphy projects don’t do much for me (see Nip/Tuck, AHS Freak Show & Hotel, Scream Queens, latter day Glee) so not on pins & needles for it. I haven’t watched American Crime Story yet, but since it is a true story and Ryan Murphy wasn’t as hands on, maybe I can tolerate it. This show seems to allow Murphy to give in to his worst instincts. I understand some love that, I just don’t.May 6, 2016 at 7:04 am #1201825555
I can’t wait!May 6, 2016 at 7:33 am #1201825570
I thought this was a joke at first. How many anthologies can be?!
That being said, casting is perfect and I’m excited to see what will they do with it. Apparently filming of “…Baby Jane?” itself was “tense but professional”.
