Elijah Wood deserved better than this out-there
    series:

FX has ordered what will be the fourth and final season for “Wilfred,”
and is moving the comedy to FXX for its last 10-episode run.

The Elijah Wood and Jason Gann-starrer is based on an Australian series
and debuted on FX in June 2011. Its launch broke ratings records for FX,
as it became the cabler’s most-watched comedy premiere with 2.6 million
viewers. The program, created by Gann and Adam Zwar, served as a lead-in
for “Louie,” but this year ran solo on the net in its Thursday slot on
FX’s primetime lineup as “Louie” took 2013 off and prepares for a 2014
return. Sources tell Variety that FX chief John Landgraf informed the
“Wilfred” creatives of their final, 10-seg order well ahead of time so
that they would have an opportunity to tie up loose ends on the series
and offer viewers closure. The move offers contrast to the typical
cancellation strategy, where, after ratings are assessed during a show’s
run, a swift axing of a program after a low-rated season leaves many
plot points unresolved, and fans frustrated.

“Wilfred” will air its final season on FXX in 2014.

I found it hilarious. It’s wierd, strange, evokes odd feelings of awkwardness and discomfort, but it had me laughing. Granted I haven’t watch season 3, but I think that the overall premise of the series deserves to have a proper send off.

As weird as this show was, my sister and parents watch something on Disney Channel called “Dog With A Blog”. It’s equally as weird.

The performances were much better than a concept that was unsustainable.

I never watched it, but I meant too, I heard great things about it. We need more weird shows instead of safe and bland ones. It’s so interesting to see a show tackle mental instability in a way that’s so ballsy and different.

Well, I’m sure FXX will replace it with somethign even weirder, and thank god for that.

Why did I know who the creator of this thread was just by reading the title?

Me too!  I clicked the link from the “Recent Activity” box while in the Oscars forum.  I did not even know that he had an opinion of this show.

    Same.

I thought he was talking about Louie (which he has a history of hating).

I love watching Wilfred. It’s not the best comedy on FX, i rank The League, Always Sunny, and Louie ahead of it but it was still a great show. I didn’t expect this show to last along time so 4 seasons sounds right.

Also, was a thread like this necessary? i mean if you don’t like the show why make a thread about it.

And you know he hasn’t watched a minute of this series to make that kind of judgment call on “Wilfred” regardless.

If only Wilfred had super powers and Kristen Bell was Elijah Wood’s love interest. 😉

LOL.  He has an opinion about every show even more so the ones he does NOT watch.

I will say that I kind of zoned out of the show half way during season 3, but I count season 1 as excellent and season 2 above average.

Season 1 episodes Anger and Compassion are spectacularly written and that last scene of the season 1 finale?  Amazing.
