Eh, it doesn’t seem like the show is too interested in the whole maesters v. magic storyline from the books so if he is Marwyn he’ll probably have just as much meaty material as poor Von Sydow did…

He’s quite obviously going to be the seasons ‘recognisable actor in a small or cameo role’.

I really hope they don’t go for forced, unwarranted (yet lapped up by the masses) fan-service action every episode considering it’s a short season.

I’m sure Sydow will be happy if he gets his first televised award for his efforts.

Last time we meet Marwyn in the books he was sailing to Meereen to find Dany…In the show the meeting could be in Old Town and have Daenerys, Sam, Jaquen?, Euron, the Sand Snakes all in one single location.

I highly doubt Daenerys will visit Old Town in the show unless they completely do away with the already-flaky sense of time and distance.

Do you know that Daenerys have a Jet Black Dragon?…And Old Town is the place where the original Aegon Targaryen was crowned as the King of Westeros.

And for what reason would she be going to Oldtown? It’s on the other side of Westeros to the Iron Throne which for 6 seasons Daenerys has been focused on, and none of the characters you mentioned are essential for her to attain it. It would be impractical and even illogical to suddenly have her go to Oldtown by herself on Drogon considering all the other plotlines (including her current one) they need to get through.

If you see the map is more likely than not that the Dragon queen will be landing in Dorne, then she has to secure the next territory which is
The Reach and what is the biggest city in the reach?…Old Town wich is also the seat of the official church of Westeros. But more important than any of that is that if the GOT gods (Benioff and Weiss) decide that Old Town is important for the story then Dany will go to OT.

Another thing, I don’t believe that Daenery’s fleet is going to reach Westeros intact. Every character that has cross the sea has face huge storns in the books, this has not happen in the show and getting Dany into Westeros with this huge, wait no, with this YUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE army plus the Dorne and Reach alliances that would be to easy for the Khaleesee and we need some drama, the Olds Gods and the New plus the HBO ones has to put some obstacles to the restoration of House Targaryen, we’re talking about Game of Thrones after all.

I’m still convinced that Dany will lose many of her ships in a sea battle with Euron’s impending fleet. She will ultimately defeat them, but her forces will be much less when she reaches King’s Landing. I also anticipate something happening with her dragons. They all can’t die because they will have to end up defeating the white walkers, but I can’t imagine Dany simply taking over King’s Landing. Especially with Queen Cersei in charge

Angela Lansbury in talks for guest role in Game of Thrones.
If true a lock for a guest actress nomination and likely (long overdue) win with the popular voting system.
