Love these photos – always nice to see them out of costume (although it would have been nice to see Maisie and Sophie on the cover as well).

For those interested, Joanna Robinson over at VF has an analysis up interpreting what some of the article’s few morsels of info could possibly mean for the upcoming season.

The costumes for the shoot looks like the stufff on the show mixed with 60s flair.

Counting down the days ’til July 17…..George, you procrastinating cow.

Just you wait Pook. I sense a Blue Eyes Wight Dragon making an appearance before the end of the series…

And Gurm’s not procrastinating. He’s working very hard… on Wild Cards. ;o))

I’d rather see Bran warg into one of the dragons and become the third dragon rider along with Dany and Tyrion 🙂 A boy can dream.

So hyped for the new season but sad I won’t be experiencing the story first through WOTW. I know it can’t be helped and GRRM is working hard but my expectation that the book will ever be done wanes with each passing year. Naively, I am hoping for an announcement by Xmas.

Me too. They said he’d fly, dammit! Let my boy fly!

I’ve told myself that we should expect an announcement at every Q4 for the last three years… and yet I’m still doing it, even with every LiveJournal announcement that he’s way behind and he hasn’t been working on it as hard as he wanted. I don’t have much hope for A Dream of Spring but I always believe The Winds of Winter will be out “next year.” Optimism is one resilient drug…

My super super optimistic take is that the reason it’s taking so long is that he is secretly ALSO completing A Dream of Spring….yeah, yeah I know.

I saw a trailer for the new season of Ballers and I’m seriously thinking Dwayne Johnson can get some awards traction this year? Why am I posting it in this thread? Because it is airing in the same night as Game of Thrones. And thats exactly why I think he has a chance. Specifically with the globes.

    I know. Random.

Episode breaks in Game of Thrones are fairly arbitrary, so is this HBO not wanting to shill out more per-episode fees (slash getting their money’s worth for the extraordinary sums that have allegedly been negotiated)?

I can’t believe we’re only two weeks away, I’m getting super pumped for this. I would love to have 80 minute episodes too

Maybe? But I have a hard time believing HBO would hesitate even a second to spend every possible cent necessary on GOT. Plus, more episodes would give them more subscribers for a longer period of time. I suspect the episode count is coming from Weiss and Benioff but who knows.

I predicted him for the first season of Ballers and also for hosting SNL (I think last year) and he got neither so I’m holding off on predicting him for anything until proven otherwise.
