I’m gonna predict that the first episode will just be setup and not much else, the synopsis doesn’t have a mysterious part to it like the other two and therefore won’t be up to the same standards as eps 2 & 3 look to be.

Daenerys’ unexpected visitor better be Melisandre.

Daenerys’ unexpected visitor better be Melisandre.

In the trailer, Melisandre is already at Dragonstone watching someone, presumably Daenerys, approach. However it could be Jon, which would be great to see Mel and Dav again. Am I the only one who hates Davos? He’s just too noble and idealistic for the show.

I was hoping it was her and Jon Snow

Davos is a top five character for me.

Nominations across the board from Orange is the New Black, Better Call Saul, and Silicon Valley

Not to mention the fact that he inexplicably prevented Melisandre from participating at the Battle of Blackwater despite seeing her powers the night before.

I think the scene of her in the trailer is her reaction to Jon arriving at Dragonstone rather than Daenerys.

The exclusive episode 1 premiere was yesterday in Hollywood. Do we know when the embargo lifts?

So glad this show is back! The premiere was good. Lots of setting up plot, not a ton of action but that was expected. It was definitely better than the last two season premieres. Loved the cold open especially. I thought it was some kind of flashback, though I’m guessing a lot of you guys knew it was Arya right away.

The Hound scene was the highlight imo.

Solid premiere. Not amazing. Just decent, a solid C+. I’m not saying it wasn’t good. I’m saying its decent.

    MVP: Maisie Williams

    Honorable Mention: Sophie Turner

Jon Snow was pissing me off. Sansa needs to slap the shit out of him. She should be in charge because he’s an idiot.

Great editing, beautiful cinematography, Great costumes and production design.

I loved the scene at the beginning. I was only interested in the scenes with Sansa and Arya and the last scene this episode.

I can’t wait for it the second episode. I’m so glad its back!!!

Excellent premiere. It seems like the show is finally starting to address its editing and pacing woes of the past. Things feel very movie-like here, and the check-ins with everyone felt earned. Might have left out Sam’s repetitive scenes for sometime later. Time is valuable real estate from here on out. Arya is just the effin’ BOSS right now with that opening sequence, though the later Ed Sheeran scene just completely took me out of things in a way that felt cheap and unnecessarily stunty. Cersei’s scenes were also striking. The map using the same font as the opening title sequence was a nice detailing touch. I didn’t realize until now the vast void that this show’s long absence left.

How is he an idiot? This is the same thing we saw with him bringing in the wildlings seasons ago. She never went that far north and certainly didn’t see an army of ice zombies who can kill and assimilate anything. Her response was little more than Westerosi politics still busy clutching their pearls and reviewing political code and he is trying to not further divide the north before the ice zombies come in and take everything. Meanwhile Sansa was the genius who decided to not tell him about her secret Vale backup that would have given them an advantage and ensured that tons of innocent lives were lost for no reason in the BOTB.

She wants him to be smarter than Robb, he’s doing so. Robb was the genius who decided to execute Karstark in retribution for killing the Lannister prisoners and lost a lot of his bannermen because of it, that’s honor over reason. Jon’s trying to be reasonable.
