Now that the TV season is officially winding down, the GD editors are going to start writing articles suggesting which episodes actors, producers, writers, directors, etc. should submit to Emmy voters.

So let’s here it folks. Which episodes these TV season are Emmy worthy?

You guys can discuss any category; this isn’t limited to just actors.

Tina Fey should definitely go with the episode where she goes crazy and dresses up like the joker going around scaring everybody in NYC. It would probably be her strongest submission to do date and if Poehler screws up her submission, Fey can win with that episode.

Damian Lewis should submit Marine One – the first season finale for Homeland. It would be a good episode for Claire Danes too but she has a couple of other possibilities.

Claire Danes should go with Pilot. “The Vest” will be too divisive, “Blind Spot” is great but it’s more plot driven, and “The Weekend” is more of an emsemble piece. With “Pilot” she’s showy and nuanced, has lots of range, and won’t have to worry about alienating voters who haven’t seen the show yet.

Louis C.K. should go with “Duckling”. It’s hour-long, it’s both very funny and very emotional for him, it’s very focused on the more human side of war, and it’s in Afghanistan. Voters will eat it up.

And as I have completely fallen in love with “Happy Endings”, my choices for the cast (as inlikely as it is for any of them to get nominated) would be:

“Blax, Snake, Home” for Casey Wilson (Year of Penny is great for her)
“Baby Steps” for Eliza Coupe (van scene and maternity freak out would work very well)
“Meet The Parrots” for Zachary Knighton (his chemistry with Michael McKean is perfect)
“Spooky Endings” for Damon Wayans Jr. (he has a lot of range, with more zany comedic scenes and a sweet moment with Jane at the end)
“Big White Lies” for  Elisha Cuthbert (her Ellen impression and the salsa dance scene are hilarious and she has the best quotes)
“St. Valentine’s Day Maxssacre” for Adam Pally (same reason as to why “Spooky Endings” works for Wayans, it’s just the perfect balance for his character).

EDIT: funnily enough, my choices for Pally and Wayans would really help each other out, as they are both pretty great in both episodes.

Is this submissions for after the nominations or still exists the pre-submissions?

I think Amy Poehler absolutely should submit last night’s finale. She was hilarious and did some great dramatic acting too. As for the rest of the cast, I think…
    Adam Scott: Smallest Park
    Nick Offerman: Ron and Tammys
    Rashida Jones: Lucky
    Aziz Ansari: Lucky
    Aubrey Plaza: Live Ammo
    Chris Pratt: The Debate
Rob Lowe: The Trial of Leslie Knope

It won’t happen, but I’d love to see Chris Pratt get nominated. He’s fantastic and his movie depictions in The Debate may have been the funniest part of that season. I know Community actors will never get nominated, but I do love speculation, so…
    Joel McHale: Contemporary Impressionists
Gillian Jacobs: Urban Matrimony and the Sandwich Arts
    Danny Pudi: Virtual Systems Analysis
Yvette Nicole Brown: Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism
    Alison Brie: Virtual Systems Analysis
    Donald Glover: Remedial Chaos Theory
    Jim Rash: Documentary Filmmaking: Redux
    Ken Jeong: Competitive Ecology
    Chevy Chase: Advanced Gay

And for a show that may actually get some nominations, here are my thoughts for New Girl.
    Zooey Deschanel: Jess and Julia
    Max Greenfield: Control
Jake Johnson: Tomatoes (really hope he has a chance at getting nominated. Nick just got better and better as the season went on.)
    Lamorne Morris: Bells
    Hannah Simone: Valentine’s Day

    For Desperate Housewives:
*Kathryn Joosten should submit the series finale
*Vanessa Williams should submit the series finale
*Teri Hatcher should submit either “Women and Death” or “School of Hard Knocks”
*Marcia Cross should submit “Is This What You Call Love?”

Unfortunately, last seasons MVP (Eva Longoria) and Felicity Huffman went all season without a good tape, so I hope neither one gets a nomination, especially since if they nominate ANY of the leading ladies, it will only be one of them!

    – Laura Linney, The Big C
If she submits from season 2, it should without a doubt be “The Little C.” I have not seen any of the currently-airing season 3 and can’t comment if there’s something better to submit in that batch. With “The Little C,” she’d be a threat to win. It’s one of the few episodes that lighten up on the drama and lets the comedy take center-stage while having you root for Cathy the entire time (which is sometimes a very hard thing to do with this character).

It’s definitely her best option from that season (which was a trainwreck) but it is most definitely not a winning tape. It doesn’t even come close to what Poehler, Dreyfus, Dern and even Fey will submit.

I don’t believe that Dern has a chance of winning the Emmy.

She probably doesn’t, it’s between Poehler and Dreyfus.
