The Golden Globes always seem to have at least a few out of left field nominees in their acting categories; some recent examples include Callie Thorne (2012; Lead Actress-Drama for Neccessary Roughness); Piper Perabu (2011-Lead Actress-Drama for Covert Affairs); or a little further back Stephanie Beacham (1990, Lead Actress-Comedy for Sister Kate).
So my question is who will be this years bizarre, out of left field nominee from the Globes (in any acting category)? The one who has little buzz and comes as a total shock.December 4, 2015 at 6:09 am #366172
It’d be a welcome shock (for me) if they nominated Shiri Appleby for UnReal or Aya Cash for You’re The Worst – both great but with little buzz.
Lady Gaga would be pretty bizarre IMO.December 4, 2015 at 9:32 am #366173
I will jump for joy if Shiri Appleby, Aya Cash or Rami Malek get nominations – let alone any of their respective shows (UnREAL, You’re the Worst, Mr. Robot)December 4, 2015 at 9:41 am #366174
I think Rami Malek is a lock for a nomination – I’ll be more shocked if they snub him.December 4, 2015 at 2:14 pm #366175
^ No one is a lock at the Globes. I agree with the person who said Lady Gaga would be a bizarre choice. Ugh, I pray to God she doesn’t get nominated over people who deserve to get nominated (I.e Sarah Hay, Kirsten Dunst, Jean Smart, Felicity Huffman & Queen Latifah)December 4, 2015 at 3:04 pm #366176
Lady Gaga is happening.December 4, 2015 at 4:08 pm #366177
I was thinking it might be somebody odd like Katie Holmes for Ray Donovan. GG has seemed to embrace Ray Donovan as of late and I think given her high profile she could snatch a nomination.December 4, 2015 at 4:44 pm #366178
Totally agree with you, King Kunta – I actually think Gaga is in good standing to be a double nominee this year!!!December 4, 2015 at 7:17 pm #366179
Plenty of people are watching AHS, everybody knows who Gaga is, this show is still popular and so is FX. That is nothing compared to USA shows getting recognition when hardly anybody watches or talks about them (for an awards show that cares about popularity, it’s bizarre) or Scott Caan and Danny Huston recently for shows nobody cared about. Gaga wouldn’t be bizarre.
I don’t think we can predict this person (or people) because they’ve been so bizarre (Callie Thorne? Were they catching up on The Wire?) that nobody could be that crazy or psychic to see them coming. I mean it would have to be like Jeffrey Dean Morgan getting in for The Good Wife (lol) or the star of Younger, I can’t even remember her name, something bizarre and unexpected like that.
I mean people are actually expecting, praying for Rami Malek, Aya Cash, or thinking about Gaga, was anybody hoping for Scott Caan to get in for Hawaii 5-0?December 4, 2015 at 9:13 pm #366180
Not a bizarre nominee to those who have seen the performance, but here’s hoping against hope the names of Melissa Benoist and Calista Flockhart are spoken Tuesday.December 5, 2015 at 6:33 am #366182
How about a Golden Globe nomination for lead actress in a drama series for Priyanka Chopra in Quantico (ABC)?December 5, 2015 at 5:05 pm #366183
Lead Actress Drama
– Shiri Appleby, UnReal
– Priyanka Chopra, Quantico
Lead Actress Miniseries/TV-Movie
– Nicole Kidman, Grace of Monaco
Supp. Actress TV
– Claire Foy, Wolf Hall
– Katie Holmes, Ray Donovan
– Susan Sarandon, The Secret Life of Marilyn MonroeDecember 6, 2015 at 4:07 pm #366184
I think Rami Malek is a lock for a nomination – I’ll be more shocked if they snub him.
Malek was just bizarre, bizarre, and not in a good way.
Internet, critics, mostly everyone who watched the show disagree with you.
Edit: Ah, Now I see thats you Paulin, supp??? xDDecember 7, 2015 at 12:24 pm #366185
If Priyanka Chopra gets a Golden Globe nomination I won’t be able to stop laughing. Such a horrible actress, at least on Quantico.
And I agree, the Lady Gaga nomination is COMING, ya’ll. Prepare yourselves for it.
