Yaaassss, living for that sneak peak and the return of Elijah!October 20, 2013 at 8:29 pm #304608
I’ll be suspicious to see how they’re trying to really abruptly right the wrongs of the finale. Like Marnie and Charlie like about to be happy ever After then the actor leaves so they have to suddenly change it. And Hannah like about to be sued by her book editor and how they’re somehow totally fine? When this show is good it’s great but I’m a little worried about how abruptly she’s trying to change things that didn’t work great last seasonOctober 21, 2013 at 12:55 am #304609
I’m interested to see how they’ll work around some of the events of last season, but I like what I see in the promo, I think it’s headed in a potentially great direction.October 21, 2013 at 4:46 pm #304610
Loved every minute of that preview. I too did have problems with the romanticized lives of the girls that was that season two finale. But it looks like real stuff and more ensemble (the girls are together again!) work is going to happen. And the return of Andrew Rannells is a plus. Realloking forward to this and “Looking” being the hypothetical sister show/companion piece.October 22, 2013 at 5:52 am #304611
YESSSS. This looks really awesome and hopefully more upbeat than the second half of season two (though it holds up a lot better on re-watch). I had some issues with the ending of S2 also, especially on the Marnie/Charlie front, but I listened to the commentary with Lena and Judd Apatow recently and they acknowledged that the rom-com ending wasn’t entirely earnest. I’m not sure the show conveys this very well, but there you go. I also have problems with the Adam/Hannah ending in theory, but in reality I found their connection to be very poignant especially in context of Hannah’s mental illness.
Still — ELIJAH! And Marnie “manically grieving.” Sounds awesome.October 22, 2013 at 7:16 am #304612
That looks amazing. ALL OF IT! Season 3 can’t arrive soon enough.November 3, 2013 at 10:59 am #304613
The girl that played Charlie’s girlfriend last season was the first choice to play Marnie. That would’ve been interesting to see. The lack of self awareness Allison Williams breathes into Marnie is fun to watch, but she is not as strong as an actress that some make her out to be, so seeing a strong actress in the role would’ve been great to see.November 22, 2013 at 8:15 am #304615
Love it. My body is ready.November 22, 2013 at 9:48 am #304616
That looked phenomenal.
I’m pretty excited to have this show back in my life, and it looks like a return to the tone of S1.November 22, 2013 at 10:57 pm #304617
This will likely be the first complete season that I watch.November 23, 2013 at 12:12 am #304618
Will you pick up Veep as well?
It will be interesting to see how Girls does. I have a feeling that the show (despite the expanded acting nom and regardless of quality) is going to get less Emmy attention…November 23, 2013 at 8:14 am #304619
Looks amazing. I’m in.
