It’s a matter of taste. Golden Globes had several great picks that Emmys didn’t follow. From that list basically everyone sans Colfer and few not mentioned like Teri Hatcher or Anthony Edwards. There are however several Emmys picks that didn’t happen at the Globes but were also very worthy: Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul (never nominated), Kyle Chandler, Julianna Margulies (for “ER”), Felicity Huffman, “West Wing” supporting guys, Michael Emerson, Terry O’Quinn, Kristin Chenoweth or Jaime Pressly. Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell certainly deserved 3 consecutive nominations more than Sofia Vergara and Eric Stonestreet. Globes also have much less supporting slots so that can explain a lot of omissions. Therefore both groups had their missteps and fantastic winners. Globes are much more interested in new blood and hype while Emmys can pick the same people over and over again, both can get annoying because of that but so can be every single award show and we still love them, don’t we?
