It was announced on Tuesday that NBC picked up a 13-episode straight to series order from Mike Schur, creator of Parks and Recreation, for a new comedy entitled Good Place, starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson in the lead roles. Mike Schur will serve as creator and executive producer.
The synopsis from Deadline: In “Good Place,” Bell will play Eleanor, a woman from New Jersey who
comes to realize that she hasn’t been a very good person. She decides to
turn over a new leaf by learning what it actually means to be “good” or
“bad,” and then trying to make up for her past behavior. Danson will
play Michael, who, through an unlikely set of circumstances, comes to be
Eleanor’s guide through her self-designed self-improvement course.
Very vague, but I have high hopes because of Schur’s comedy pedigree! Will this mean that NBC might FINALLY have a good comedy series again?
But what about House of Lies?
She’s still on that show and specified in her conract with Good Place that it wouldn’t interfere with her Showtime series.
