Couldn’t find a thread, but the third season came out yesterday. I’ve finished the first six episodes of the season, and it is has been excellent. These episodes, so far, set up a conflict (and resolution) really well. Tomlin has been hysterical, but Fonda got to really show off her chops in Episode 5. I’m excited to finish the season!

I finished the show this morning, and I love it ! This season is really about Grace and Frankie relationship and it’s very well done. Really really love it again, specially the episode were both are stuck on the floor.

I’m eight episodes in at this point and, while I still adore Fonda and Tomlin, I’d argue this is probably the weakest season to date. The other characters still don’t work at all. In terms of Emmy submissions (so far at least), I would maybe suggest “The Burglary” for Tomlin. Nothing really yet for Fonda, though.

Lily Tomlin was hilarious in “The Burglary.”

Tomlin and Jane Fonda are the only reason I’m still watching; can’t stand any of the supporting cast. There’s only so much they can do with the plot, but Tomlin and Fonda make the most of it!

This season was great, with “The Pot” as one of the best episodes of the series. Although the finale didn’t quite reach the highs as last season’s finale (which was one of the best comedy moments on TV in 2016), it was a nice way to end. Love how this show highlights what it means to be in a “friendship.”

Lily Tomlin’s episode is definitely The Burglary. Jane Fonda could submit The Pot or even The Floor if she gets nominated.

Finished the season! I’d place it smack-dab between Seasons 2 and 1 in quality. I like “The Burglary” or “The Sign” for Tomlin and “The Musical” or “The Sign” for Fonda. Neither has a winning tape, though.

I finally forced myself to catch up. This is a decent, fun show with two decent, fun performances, but ultimately, it is disappointing that Fonda and Tomlin are taking up 2 spots in such an amazingly fresh category. There were so many great options but this lineup was one of my biggest letdowns with the Emmys this year. Fonda was definitely the MVP of this season though. But honestly. of this is going to get two acting nominations its kind of frustrating that June Diane Raphael doesn’t get one. I wouldn’t nominate her but I’d nominate her before Fonda and Tomlin.

This was better than season 1 but its still disappointing that this is contender when there are so many other more worthy shows in my opinion.

Raphael is indeed fabulous. I admittedly wish they didn’t spend so much time on Sheen and Waterston, though. Their material these past two seasons has felt so forced and not been the least compelling or funny.

The “subtle” ageism. Both Tomlin and Fonda deserve to be nominated. Tomlin should’ve won last year and Fonda should have been nominated for all three seasons. They should continue to have their deserved places until the show ends.
