    G’Day guys,

As some of you may or may not know, me and a mate do a podcast each week and this week we ranked and debated the best 20 drama characters since 2000. I thought it was a topic that would be fun to discuss here, so who do you think are the best! who would you list.

By no means do you need to listen to the podcast to join in, but if you wanted to listen to it, here’s the links:

I speak with super limited knowledge but I’d have to say of the more recent dramas:

Sergent Nicholas Brody in Homeland, portrayed by Damien Lewis
Walter White in Breaking Bad, portrayed by Bryan Cranston
Skyler White in Breaking Bad, portrayed by Anna Gunn
Kalinda Sharma in The Good Wife, portrayed by Archie Panjabi

Well, with the likes of Vic Mackey, Walt White, Jesse Pinkman, and Benjamin Linus already mentioned, I would like to add to the list:

Omar Little, played by Michael Kenneth Williams, on the HBO show “The Wire”

    And, more recently…

Richard Harrow, played by Jack Huston, on the HBO show “Boardwalk Empire”

Some of these are probably not ‘ones of the greatest,’ but they will be part of pop culture references.
    – Dr. Gregory House
    – Dr. Derek Shepherd (McDreamy)
    – Serena & Blair in Gossip Girl (seriously)
    – Dexter Morgan
    – John Locke & Ben Linus

The first one’s to come to mind on shows that are off the air already:

    Dr. Greg house
    – When this character was first introduced it was a bit of an aberrition.  I don’t think we’d ever seen a character of the like before and before the kind of lost the plot in the fourth season, he was one of the more nuanced and consistent characters I’d ever seen.

    Allan Shore
    – I loved the original The Practice series and thought Boston Legal was good, although sometimes too campy and tried to hard to be funny so it is difficult to take him serious at times but it is still a very memorable character.  Hell, it did win him three Emmy’s (even if not everyone believed they were deserved necessarily).

    Nate Fisher
    – Don’t know why but the character always stuck with me.  And his death always stuck with me more so than the death of any other character.

    The Wire’s cast
    – Too many to single out just one.  Most will say Omar or Stringer but McNulty, Freamon, Daniels, Carcetti, Bunk, the boys but if I were to single out any two it would be:  Bodie and Frank Sobatka.  Insanely memorable characters with unforgettable, harrowing final scenes.

I would definitely add Brenda Leigh Johnson (Kyra Sedgwick – The Closer) to this list. An iconic character that will be missed dearly

Well there are just so many to pick from, but a few I’d be sure to include (using the 1-character per series rule)

    —Alicia Florrick, The Good Wife.
—- Kevin Walker, Brothers & Sisters
    —–Don Draper, Mad Men
    —–Victoria Grayson, Revenge
