So we’re about 5 or 6 months away from the new season of Homeland hitting our screens (I am counting down the days), and we now have some information on the 5th Series.

Carrie will be saying ‘Guten Tag’, and shagging some naive student called Hans, as Homeland moves to GERMANY!

Showtime has confirmed that the fifth outing of the show will see Carrie go after the trail of terror in Europe.

The series will move ahead two and a half years in time from where we left off, with Carrie in a new job, moving away from an intelligence offer role.

Seems like a big change for the show yet again. Let’s hope it can pull it off, just as it did for the fourth season!!

First Hitler and now Carrie showing out. Hasn’t Germany suffered enough?

I hope it means Nina Hoss will appear more than one episode. She was a stunning addition in ‘Krieg Nicht Lieb’.

While I dont love the idea of transfering it to Germany, I am curious to see how the time jump is handled.

I’m most curious to learn how the show will function without Carrie actually working for the CIA or being involved in national security at all.

A new press release is out and there are many juicy tidbits.  Looks like F. Murray Abraham is back as a series regular, along with Mandy Patinkin and Rupert Friend, with no mention of Tracy Letts or anyone else that we know.  There are four new main cast members.  Sebastian Koch plays Carrie’s boss, Sarah Sokolovic is a journalist, Miranda Otto (suspiciously also a regular on HBO’s Westworld) is the “Berlin Chief of Station, working directly under Saul” and Alexander Fehling is Carrie’s boyfriend!

    This season’s episode 1 casualty?

Not familiar with the newcomers, but glad to see F. Murray will still be in the mix.

    F. Murray Abraham could have very strong material this season I feel.

When he was introduced, you imagined that they would hire him because of his calibre, and not to waste it. It took a couple of years of build up, but last season it paid off. Hopefully, it all develops in exciting ways to see him becoming a massively central character now. Very exciting.

Im excited for this too. Same goes with Peter Quinn…it was really great to see that the writers were interested in giving him a character arch last season…i’m interested to see where we see him in S5…i have a feeling he is going to be totally engrossed in the CIA

YES! Looks riveting. Excited to see a non-CIA Carrie.

Looks so good! May need to attach myself to a defibrillator every Sunday night for a few weeks towards the end of the year just in case!
