It was announced at the TCA Winter Press Tour yesterday that Season 6 of Homeland will be filmed and set in New York City. This marks the show’s first season to be set primarily in a domestic setting since Season 3.

Also, the network continues to be vague about Quinn’s fate.

I enjoyed the overseas seasons so it will be interesting to see what they come up with back in the US, espeically in NYC. Maybe Carrie will be involved with the UN.

The ambiguity STILL about Quinn is a bit annoying. I can’t imagine that Gansa and Co. don’t know his fate. It’s not going to be that big of a surprise come June when filming starts and he’s either going to be there or not. So why keep up this charade?

I’m intrigued by the New York setting. When I saw this news yesterday, I was instantly thrilled because it was one of my favourite shows taking place in one of my favourite cities!

Now I’m more wary/hopeful that they can maintain the level of tension and suspense that they have achieved the past 2 seasons in particular whilst they have been primarily away from the US.

Claire Danes said on the red carpet Saturday that filming of Homeland would be delayed until August…usually they film in May/June…I don’t see how they would premiere in October if they don’t start until August. Is Showtime restructuring their scheduling? Unless Homeland and Billions switch lineups.

Maybe the writers are going to try to write the entire season before they go into production.  Maybe they are going to do 10 episodes instead of 12, which would be fine with me.  I do know Showtime is not premiering their shows two by two, which is why Shameless premiered a week before Billions.  House of Lies is premiering April 10, Penny Dreadful May 1.

I bet they’ll still remain on the same release schedule, but they’ll just film all the episodes in rapid succession. It’ll likely be easier to do since it is based in NYC.

Season 5 premiered Oct 5, the finale aired Dec 20.  Most shows that produce 12/13 episodes for cable take around 5 1/2 months to film (maybe longer).   My guess is Showtime will premiere The Affair in Oct and Homeland in November, unless Homeland starts filming in early July instead of August.

Interesting!  Maybe it misses 2016 entirely.

Yea I just read that recently at the TCA’s Showtime said that they are premiering new shows every month. So Homeland could still premiere in the fall, just maybe in November or even December. I would hate to see 2016 with no Homeland. It’s already feels like a long hiatus!

Weird that a Homeland run would go November-January!

According to a On the Page: Screenwriting podcast, Homeland writer Charlotte Stoudt confirmed that Homeland Season 6 would not premiere until January 2017.

But would that mess with WGA/PGA/DGA eligibility? It wouldn’t make the Critics Choice or Golden Globes deadline either.

It’s not like it have been doing very strong showing in those either nor that it needed any big advertising after this point, as an established show in its sixth season.
Guilds main purpose is to help us shape the Emmy race.

I think that it’s a good move for its Emmy odds, which should be the focal point. Being more recent is always an advantage. Wonder which time slot will it air? Maybe they replace it with Shameless?

There was a good possibility that SAG will nominate the same 5 women again next year for the 3rd year in Danes’ category. At least we know that’s not going to happen now. Also there will be 2 open slots in Ensemble category. BCS? Vinyl? Mr.Robot, if it’s gonna be a top player?
