Fill in the blank:
If ___ doesn’t win, I will QUIT the Emmys!
For me, it’s “Game of Thrones” as Best Drama Series. I go into the Emmys with an open mind each year and “GoT,” simply put, was the best drama on TV during the 2014-2015 Emmy cycle. If it doesn’t win for its spectacular Season 5, I’ll be heartbroken.
You?June 23, 2015 at 7:14 pm #351389
I’m not super passionate about any performances or series this year, like I was with Breaking Bad and Bryan Cranston.
I won’t quit the Emmys, but Kyle Chandler better not beat Jon Hamm again this year.June 23, 2015 at 7:27 pm #351390
i agree i saw this post and i though of Game of Thrones, to me it needs to win. In all honesty to me this was the worse overall season in the show’s run but it was still well above other shows on tv, and since i have read the books i am very critical. It did have some great episodes/moments nonetheless. But after 5 great season all nominated for best drama and the HUGE popularity of the show, i mean 8 million people watch the finale on HBO and against the NBA finals, its crazy. I mean this is what televition should be about, well made TV that breaks ground, takes challenges, and attracts vast audiences, please reward HBO for taking a risk with this show and spending money to make it. I actually have been able to talk to my co-worker about it because everyone watch game of thrones. If the emmys dont reward it this year, i might be over with them. This is it! now! this is a show with an excellent story, writing, directing, acting, production, etc and most importantly its soooo popular. I actually felt this way before LOST won best drama, so fingers cross. Yes LOST won but i want more! After the emmys ignoring shows that became part our culture like the X-files, CSI, Battlestar Galactica, Buffy, etc. i need GOT to win.June 23, 2015 at 7:30 pm #351391
I will obviously not quit the Emmys at all, but I’d be pretty sad if Modern Family didn’t break the comedy series record.
Jon Hamm for Lead Actor, even if it is a consolotion award I want to see him up there giving a thank you speech after a standing ovation.
Sarah Paulson for Supporting Actress.
Will Forte for Lead Actor.
And I guess that’s all.June 23, 2015 at 7:32 pm #351392
That’s a bit more extreme than I will go, but I’ll be totally upset if Silicon Valley loses to Modern Family. I was on board with a Modern Family victory, but I was waiting for Veep to decide for sure. Then Silicon Valley totally surprised me with a brilliant second season. It is the hardest choice for me to only pick six episodes for Series submissions. If it’s really only a matter of time that Modern Family stops winning (and I’ve agreed with all their previous victories!) then Silicon Valley should take over, and it should be this year.June 23, 2015 at 7:38 pm #351393

Once again, I will never quit the Emmys. But I’ll wicked pissed if the Mad Men actors, but especially Jon Hamm, who has been nominated 13 times but has yet to win an Emmy, lose yet again.June 23, 2015 at 10:29 pm #351398
Lisa Kudrow or Amy Poheler winning Comedy Actress
Jon Hamm winning Drama Actor (I don’t watch season 7 yet, but he deserve for all the past seasons)June 24, 2015 at 12:04 am #351399
Lisa KudrowJune 24, 2015 at 12:36 am #351400
Sarah Paulson for “American Horror Story: Freak Show”.
Her performance is brilliant. She’s very complex and incredibly exciting as Bette and Dot. And unlike Jessica Lange (who won two Emmys for American Horror Story) she’s actually pretty amazing each seasons, playing new characters, showing new aspects of her talent. Go Sarah, don’t let anyone to take your award this time!June 24, 2015 at 12:43 am #351401
