If the Globes were brave enough to split the Supporting Actor and Actress categories into Drama and Comedy categories, who do you think would be nominated. All of this is hypothetically of course.

This could only work in film splitting to Drama and Musical/Comedy. For it to work in television categories they’d have to have Comedy, Drama and Limted Series/Movie. I’ve only predicted film. * indicates predicted winner

    Best Supporting Actor – Drama:
    Robert Duvall / THE JUDGE
    Ethan Hawke / BOYHOOD
    Mark Ruffalo / FOXCATCHER
Andy Serkis / DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES
    *J.K. Simmons / WHIPLASH

    Best Supporting Actress – Drama:
    *Patricia Arquette / BOYHOOD
Jessica Chastain / A MOST VIOLENT YEAR
    Laura Dern / WILD
Keira Knightley / THE IMITATION GAME
    Rene Russo / NIGHTCRAWLER

    Best Supporting Actor – Musical/Comedy:
    Josh Brolin / INHERENT VICE
    *Edward Norton / BIRDMAN
Chris Pine / INTO THE WOODS
Tony Revolori / THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL
    Ben Schnetzer / PRIDE

    Best Supporting Actress – Musical/Comedy:
    Rose Byrne / NEIGHBORS
    Imelda Staunton / PRIDE
    *Emma Stone / BIRDMAN
Meryl Streep / INTO THE WOODS
    Naomi Watts / ST. VINCENT
