I am just curious, because I have heard that people consider this to be a “limited series”, does that mean that “24: Live Another Day” will qualify for miniseries or not?

Production-wise they’re treating it like it’s Season 9 of 24, but I guess that Fox might try to spin it like it is a miniseries, since the battlefield is less crowded there.
Although I don’t really think they even care that much.

This should be in the 24 thread or the miniseries thread.

It will likely be submitted as a miniseries, since the field is easier and it kind of is one.

A few years ago, they easily could have included 24: Redemption as a series tape, but they instead submitted it separately to get more nominations, so it is not like they are averse to the miniseries categories.

I always get that every time I start a thread. It’s really getting annoying! Where does it say that you have to put EVERYTHING related to something in only one thread? Can’t we have some diversity on this site?

You do not have to, but you asked the question, got two replies and now there is nothing more to say.  If we had a new thread everytime that someone had a simple question, the forums would become clogged and hard to navigate.

We have asked this question to Fox executives, and they haven’t made a decision yet. They also don’t know if it will even qualify for this year’s Emmys because of the timing of its release. We should know soon.

Good point, I guess. Sorry about that. Lost my temper a little bit.

This is actually a really interesting question.

It seems everyone assumes “24” will compete as a miniseries, but could the Academy rule otherwise? It only has 12 episodes and it’s advertised as an “event” but if we want to be objective and fair, this project is the 9th season of “24”. This will have a beginning, middle and end but how is that different from other “24” seasons? As “Arrested Development” proved last year, shows can come back after relatively long absences. If the return of “24” is successful and they order another “event”/ season, will that also compete as a miniseries?
