Thinking about this regarding the “Between Two Ferns” nominations. You’d think having the leader of the free world drop by would be a boon, but “Colbert Report,” “MythBusters,” and even “The View” in daytime lost Emmys when they submitted their Obama episodes. Anybody else I’m missing? Has anybody won by submitting an Obama-centric episode?
Well, it better win because it was brilliantly funny. Runner-up: Joel McHale’s True Detective parody.
Well he appears in the opening credits of the Emmy-winning first season of Homeland, does that count?
Please don’t hate me but the real question is not “Is Barack Obama cursed at the Emmys” but “Why does the President of the United States appear in so many shows”. He might have been the right choice for President but his media strategy is so strange.
Michelle Obama hasn’t been nominated for any of her appearances on any show. Not even her most high profile Nashville appearance.
I don’t know if president Obama is cursed but most of the time if someone submits an episode with Obama the hosts of those shows become fawning idiots with no Brains and are butt kissers however that is not so much the truth of zach galafinakis but even there the propaganda for signing up gets far too heavy handed but its by far the best.
