I think it is a good choice if FOX wanted to choose from their own talent, but I’m dubious if she’s going to do a good work overall. I suppose she’ll do fine as long as FOX doesn’t put Matthew Morrison as co-host.

I think she’ll be good, but I bet people will be disappointed because they’ll somehow expect her to channel the awesomeness that was early Sue Sylvester.

As long as there is not an overdose of Glee content, Jane Lynch will be a fine (and potentially great) host.  My worry is that FOX is airing this and FOX made Jane Lynch emcee their upfronts in character of Sue Slyvester the entire time.

Good choice. Anyone over Seacrest is fine by me.

And as proven by NPH two years ago, hosting will only have you buzz but not a guaranteed win.

Maybe FOX is being overly optimistic about a possible Glee series win. Either way, it’ll be interesting to see Jane Lynch hosting. I’d prefer a song-and-dance man, or a late night host, but if we can’t get Jimmy Fallon or NPH, Lynch is a funny woman who surely will put her all into it.

It would be very unlikely to be someone like Fallon or NPH.  Networks usually try to get someone already employed by the network the Emmys air on.

Fox had a great idea once before when they aired the Emmys.  They tried to get Hugh Laurie to host.  He turned it down.  Alas.

Jane Lynch could be fun, though.  She is very funny.  Just hope it doesn’t propel her to a win, as there are a few more actresses more deserving.

    G’Day,

I’m not a big Jane Lynch fan. She’s strong on Glee, but I don’t like her as much as most. That being said, I think she is a solid choice considering who FOX has to choose from. I’m a bit disapointed they didn’t go with Laurie but am glad they chose Lynch over Seacrest or some other reality host.

It’s nice to have another female solo host-considering how rare that is.  And I do think Jane is funny- as long as Fox doens’t have her be Sue the whole time, this will get old VERY soon and hopefully someone at Fox will realize that.

I wonder if Fox is going to ask ATAS to add the Music & Lyrics category to the main program this year if one of the original songs from Glee gets a nomination.  (They could always start the awards at 7:30 with a 30-minute “red carpet” show at 7.)

Bad news if you live in Dallas; the one “late afternoon” game Fox is airing on Emmy night is Dallas vs San Francisco, so if it runs long, viewers in Dallas (and San Francisco, if Fox airs the Emmys live nationwide) might not see the start of the show.

This may destroy her chances of winning. Remember when everybody said NPH would win in 2009? And people thought Jimmy Fallon would get nominated last year but he was 100% snubbed in variety?

That’s optimistically assuming there’s a game to be broadcast!

I think this is a solid choice.  Her character may have been assassinated by bad writing this season on “Glee,” but Lynch is a gifted comedienne.
