You guys should have predicted Silicon Valley!July 10, 2014 at 8:50 am #322502
Congrats, Boomer, on predicting the Merrit Wever omission. Sorry that the Emmys overlooked your #1 prediction for Comedy Actor.July 10, 2014 at 9:59 am #322504
Great slugfest, even though you refuse to believe Marcus’ assertion that BB has this in the bag!
And Jim Carter deserved his nom last year. This year, not so much.July 11, 2014 at 8:32 am #322506
Hey, Boomer and Gold Derby. Would there be a possibility of a forum that posts all the tapes submitted by the nominees? If so, when? I’m looking forward to it. Thank you.July 11, 2014 at 8:36 am #322507

We post that information every year and will do so again as soon as we start to get confirmation of episode submissions. Chris Beachum/ Boomer is working on that now, checking in with all of the publicists and networks.
THE TWO WEBCAM SLUGFESTS WE DID YESTERDAY ARE BOTH ON THE HOMEPAGE NOWJuly 14, 2014 at 10:09 am #322508
Chris and I predicted the Wever drop – that one was obvious, tho.
I wrote a lot about how the predicted Wever snub was inconsistent with past snubbed winners and contrasted it with Jeff Daniels. He is on a show that the Emmys do not like and obviously won on the strength of his tape, which has nothing to do with the popular vote that gets you a nomination. Wever on the other hand did not have a great tape and more likely won on general popularity, which would be correlated with doing well in the nominating phase. Additionally, the Emmys actually like Nurse Jackie, which you can see from its support in the Creative Arts. This year, they liked it still, as you can see most notably with its casting nomination, crazy for a show in its sixth season. So I have no logical explanation for the Wever snub. Going forward, I will have to go out of my way to predict snubs for winners just because.
