Tatiana Maslany has agreed to give the restraining order she has on me a 45min grace period so that I may interview here Live on the Gold Derby homepage this Sunday! We’ll be discussing her first ever SAG Nomination as well as “Orphan Black” and whatever else she wants to dicuss because she can say no wrong. Oh, and a question or two on those F!ing Emmy snubs.

Leave your questions for her in this thread and I’ll get to as many as I can. We’re going to try and have a chat box on the homepage but it slowed down the site considerably during the Globes pre-shows so it may or may not happen which is why I’m asking for questions here.

    BUMP

Less than 48hrs here folks. Any questions at all? All I’ve got so far is “Will you marry me?” and I’d like to also ask her something about SAG and the Emmys. Is it weird asking her about her feelings on the Emmy snubs? She doesn’t seem like the type that would care.

Are you surprised by all the awards and nominations you’ve recived for your performance, and by the very dedicated fan base the show has built (which I am part of)

On the Emmy snub question, maybe word it in the way ‘Did you have and expectations when the Emmy nominations came out’. Something along those lines

And could you add to my question the dediated face base world wide, as I’m in the U.K. Thanks

^I’m guessing you meant “dedicated fan base world wide”.

Sadly you picked about the worst time in the world to hold this chat/interview.  As a fan of proessional football, this is about the biggest day of the year on Sunday and my favorite team happens to kickoff at the exact same time as this starts.  So I will not be able to watch/take part, but please do have a good time talking with her.

As far as the Emmy snubs question goes, I do not find anything wrong with asking about it.  I am pretty sure TV guide asked her the same question last year and she was very gracious and polite in her response.  At this point, I am sure she has been asked mutipe times and may even be used to it by now.

I have a couple of questions but sadly they are probably things she has been asked 1,000 times beore.  Oh well, maybe you will find some of them useful.

1.) What are your thoughts or hopes for your characters on the show?  Where do you want to see them go or end up?  Is it possible for any of them to have a happy ending/find resolution or peace in their lives?

2.) Which of the Clones is your favorite to play?  Which one do you find the most challenging?

3.) Do you find out about you characters in advance or is it only a day or two before shooting you find about a new character (for example, when did you find out you would be playing Tony, the transgendered clone, last season)?

4.) When did you find out about the male clones?  Did you know the creators wanted to head in this direction all along or was this as big a surprise for you as it was us?  Are you excited by your new male co-stars?

5.) As far as the characters/clones you play, do you have any say in what happens to them?  Or do the writers ever consult you on what is the best direction to take with them?  Considering you play them so well and must know them so well by now, I am interested to find out.

Here are some general questions as well

1.) What are you career aspirations?  Do you want to get into the movie industry or do Broadway?  Or are you happy doing TV for the time being?  Do you ever fantasize about maybe playing only one character on a show someday like most normal actors do? ( I meant that mostly as a joke).

2.)  What was it like being on Parks and Rec last year?  How long were you on set?  Did you get to meet the entire cast of the show?

3.) Are there any other shows you would love to guest star on (drama or comedy)?

4.) Since she has been to a couple of awards show already, is there anyone she geeked out over when she met them?  Are there any celebrities she is looking forward to meeting in the future?

5.) Does she ever hang out with her cast mates off the set?

6.) What are her favorite TV shows or movies (if she watches either)?

7.) Does she enjoy being a celebrity and getting recognized by fans in public?  Is it ever weird or surreal to have fans recognize you in public?

8.) When is the first time she heard about the clone club and the dedicated fan base this show has created?

Well I hope those questions might be helpful/useful.  Hopefully you may be able to use a couple of them.  Sadly I will not be able to watch your interview with her on Sunday but I look forward to seeing it posted on the website at a later date.  Thanks.

Aw c’mon espn! First kick-off isn’t until 12:05p (PST). This chat is at 11a (PST) and should only run about 30-35mins. Give me more credit than that! Unless by “professional football” you’re talking soccer or something weird like that then I would not have known. Go Packers/Pats!!

Thanks to you and Josh for the questions. I have some of the same ones you brought up espn – nice call. Also, I went back through the previous chat with did with her (in 2013) and discovered Rob asked her a viewer question about the possibility of a Trans clone in the future and she mentions she’d never given it any thought but that it sounded very interesting then what happens? Bam. Season two there’s Tony. Moral of the story: Viewer questions can make an impact!

^Maybe I have my time zones confused, but above I noticed it said 11PST/3 ET.  If I am not mistaken that means it is taking place at 2PM central standard time, which is where I am located.  I am a Packers fan, hence my concern about the time of the chat.  Oh well, it is not that big a deal as I can hopefully catch a video of the chat at a latter date, which Gold Derby is usually good about posting.

And no matter what time it takes place, I think it’s awesome that she took time out of her schedule to chat with you here.  I absolutely adore and love Tatiana Maslany and what she does on Orphan Black.  I am also excited that you might ask her one of the questions I asked.  I am particularly interested to hear what her experience on Parks and Rec was like.  If I am not mistaken, most of her scenes were opposite Tom/Aziz Ansari, so I do wonder how much she interacted with the rest of the cast.  I wonder if she actually got to meet or even hang out with Amy Poehler.

And if you do have the chance to ask her about Parks and Rec, here is one more question:

1.) Considering Orphan Black was relatively new at the time (entering it’s second season) you guested on Parks and Rec, what was it like working on a show that is such a well oiled machine?  Since they had been on for five seasons at that point, was it difficult or intimidating to try and step into an already well established world?  Or did that actually make it easier for you?

And I am glad that you appreciated the questions.  I am afraid they are a little pedestrian and obvious, but I am not all sure what to ask her.  It sounds like they may have been helpful.  Well I hope you have a great time chatting with her and I cannot wait to see the interview later.

Not you, I’m just horrible at math which is why I’m in an industry that doesn’t use it. 11a (pst) is actually 2p (est). My mistake on this thread.

I hope Aaron Rodgers kicks the living sh*t out of the Seahawks tomorrow. By far my least favorite pro team with the most insufferable fans in the country (soccer fans look worse, which is why I didn’t say world), and a big part of it is because their a majority UW Husky fans as well. Go Packers!!

Do not worry about it.  I am horrible with time zones and still get confused when trying to figure them out across the country.  Especially the mountain zone always throws me off.  Oh well.

And sorry about your Ducks losing in the title game last Monday night.  I was actually rooting for them to win as I cannot stand the Ohio State Buckeys.  The Oregon Ducks also by far have my favorite uniforms in all of college football and one of the coolest mascots.  Hopefully someday they can win a national championship after comng up short these past couple of years.

Enjoy your chat with Tatiana Maslany.  Even if it did begin an hour before the game, I would not be able to watch/participate as I would be busy watching the pre-game tomorrow.  One of the few things I love more than Orphan Black is the Green Bay Packers.  Tomorrow will be dedicated to watching them.  I certainly look forward to checking out the chat at a later time.  Thanks.

Yes, haha, I definitely meant fan base and not face base.

And, yes, if you have any other spare time in your interview with her, just tell her how much I love her!
