I just watched the last two seasons of the new Dallas. Is the show not eligible for Emmy? She is brilliant in it!

I don’t watch Dallas, but Judith Light is a revelation in nearly everything she does! I have had the great fortune to see her three most recent Broadway performances (Lombardi, Other Desert Cities, and The Assembled Parties) and was amazed each time. She’s also one of the kindest and most gracious performers I have met. I have my fingers crossed that her role in Transparent will be good!

In regard to your question, I think both TNT and Dallas lack the caché that a performer would need to be recognized by the Emmy Awards. I can’t comment on the quality of the series, though.

I believe Linda Gray actually had some small amount of Emmy buzz for her work as Sue Ellen last season on Dallas, but yeah, the show and the network are so far off Emmy’s radar.  Judith Light is indeed brilliant, but I doubt she’ll ever see any Emmy recognition for this.

I watch this show. And I absolutely love it! And I agree that Judith Light deserves strong recognition for this. She is so strong every time she gets on-screen, she can make even the best actor look like an amateur.

Kinda random but The Soup featured a clip of Light’s character snorting drugs and Joel McHale was pretty funny. Just if anyone was interested.

I think The Soup actually cut off the best part of the scene, when Light’s character (also named Judith) was running the cartel guy’s hands up and down her body to prove she wasn’t wearing a wire.  This character is just too much, in a great way.
