It was announced these two will present the nominees on July 10th. I know it is not given to get a nomination but I am thinking we may see Mindy as a nominee in the weak category.June 18, 2014 at 10:13 am #319852
I had her in sixth, so this solidifies her position for me. I love it when they get people in sixth/seventh to announce.June 18, 2014 at 10:20 am #319853
Does this mean Carson Daly will finally nominated for Reality Host? He already won as a producer last year.
And the odds just keep getting better for Mindy.June 18, 2014 at 10:23 am #319854
Yeah, this certainly seems to validate the GD consensus that Mindy is right on the border of a nomination.

I also wonder if this will be the 3rd year in a row where one of the original presenters backs out last minute. Last year Neil Patrick Harris stepped in for Kate Mara and Jimmy Kimmel the year before for Nick Offerman.June 18, 2014 at 10:32 am #319856
Carson Daly’s getting that nomination.June 18, 2014 at 10:39 am #319857
I do need someone to replace my placeholder prediction of the guy from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Do people like him on The Voice?June 18, 2014 at 11:08 am #319859
Mindy Kaling is so getting in. I have her in the sixth spot for a month now. A much better nominee than Anna Faris anyway.June 18, 2014 at 11:15 am #319860
Is there a chance that Kaling and Faris both get in over Falco or Dunham? I have trouble believing it, but anything could happen.June 18, 2014 at 11:15 am #319861
Anna Faris is good, much better than I thought she would be, but six-time Emmy nominee Mindy Kaling deserves this nomination and will probably recieve it.
It’s always awkward when one presenter is nominated and the other isn’t. Recently, we’ve seen Kristin Chenoweth and NPH both be nominated, Jim Parsons and Chandra Wilson both be nominated, and Aaron Paul and NPH both be nominated. But we’ve also seen Jimmy Kimmel be nominated and Kerry Washington not, Sofia Vergara be nominated and Joel McHale not, and Melissa McCarthy be nominated and Joshua Jackson from Fringe not.June 18, 2014 at 11:33 am #319862
Maybe they can drop Amy Poehler. She’s just a filler nominee anyway.June 18, 2014 at 11:35 am #319863
I remember thinking Nick Offerman was getting in after he was announced as a presenter. So I remain unconvinced about Mindy Kaling, especially if it means taking the last spot from Emmy Rossum.June 18, 2014 at 11:44 am #319864
Please let this mean that Mindy Kaling is in for a nomination this year in lead actress in a comedy series!
Ugh, why are we not done with Carson Daly YET?June 18, 2014 at 11:46 am #319865
Maybe they can drop Amy Poehler. She’s just a filler nominee anyway.
I am DYING OF LAUGHTER. Are you serious? A filler nominee is someone who is only nominated because there is no one better. She may never win, but she deserves a nomination more than any other actress in the category (besides maybe JLD but Amy Poehler still does more than 2 times the episodes as she does.) She has a competitive tape this year, but that means nothing because she has had the best tape for the past 3 years (Flu Season; Win, Lose or Draw; and Emergency Response/Leslie and Ben), and still hasn’t won AND JLD has a much better tape this year.
If she doesn’t win this year or the next, she will join Steve Carrell and most-likely, unfortunately Jon Hamm to make the trifecta of Emmy’s inforgivable flat-out fail failures.
