Did Gandolfini really deserve the Emmy in this year? I guess what I’m trying to ask is does anyone think that Gandolfini should have won the Emmy against Sheen in 2001?
Absolutely. Amour Fou is, IMO, the greatest episode from the show and Gandolfini’s best performance on The Sopranos as well. Everything about this episode is perfection.
This one is a tough call. I’m sad that Sheen lost this year as it was probably his best chance to win, and Two Cathedrals is my favorite episode of The West Wing, and the church scene alone would be enough to clinch the win in most years. On the other hand, Gandolfini is a force of nature in Amour Fou and thoroughly deserved the win.
Amor Fou is great and Gandolfini was amazing. He only got better when he submitted Whitecaps the nexy year, I believe.
I don’t know. Gandolfini was great, but he got multiple Emmys for The Sopranos. Sheen really deserved one for TWW, and it’s a shame he never got one. This was his best performance, and this was one of the best hours of television I’ve ever seen.
