    For the Big Bang Theory:

    Acting:
    – Jim Parsons in Lead Actor (“The Pancake Batter Anomaly”)
    – Johnny Galecki (“The Pancake Batter Anomaly”)
    – Simon Helberg in Supporting Actor (
    “The Bat Jar Conjecture”)
    – Kunal Nayyar in Supporting Actor (“The Grasshopper Experiment”) – this is the winner for sure if it gets chosen!
    – Kaley Cuoco in Supporting Actress (”
    “The Tangerine Factor”)
    – Melissa Gilbert in Guest Actress (“The Hamburger Postulate”)
    – Laurie Metcalfe in Guest Actress (
    “The Luminous Fish Effect”)
    – DJ Qualls in Guest Actor (
    “The Loobenfeld Decay”)
    – Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady in Writing (“Pilot”)
    – Mark Cendrowski in Directing (“”The Tangerine Factor”)

    Downton Abbey:

    “Episode Seven” for writing.
    “Episode Three” for directing.
Hugh Bonneville, Lead Actor, “Episode One”
Michelle Dockery, Lead Actress, “Episode Seven”
Brendan Coyle, Supporting Actor, “Episode Five”
Maggie Smith, Supporting Actress, “Episode Two”

    Series tapes:
    One/Three
    Four/Five
    Six/Seven

Coyle/Dockery/writing/series are the best shots.  The Emmys love Maggie Smith but she doesn’t actually get much amazing material compared to Coyle, Dockery, and Rob James-Collier.

“True Confessions” could be a useful episode to consider. Haven’t seen it myself, but TV Guide lists it among the great episodes of all time, and maybe David Schwimmer could be a Guest Actor possibility?
