Any news on the Netflix Lemony Snicket series? It’s been a while.

The last heard was back in February when Snicket himself told they were searching for a director.

“We’ll see. They’re looking for a director now, and it depends if it’s someone who wants to be in the same room as me and someone I want to be in the same room with. I’m trying to get better about my instincts towards collaboration because I’ve done some and quite a lot of it has gone well and some has gone terribly.”

Would like to think they got one by now. But who knows. Not me. I want to know.

This is my most anticipated TV series ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.

The design of the movie may have won an Oscar from four nominations, but I hope that the show captures the spirit, tone and hilarity of the books better!

I remember loving the books when I was younger. But now… can’t seem to remember anything about them. Good choice for a TV series, but how would it break down, episodes per book wise? Thirteen books is quite a bit for a book per season.

The movie looked beautiful and the score was amazing, but I agree that it didn’t quite capture the wonderful sarcastic wit and dark humor of the books (though I thought Carrey was perfect as Count Olaf). I too hope the series will be able to tap into the wonderful humor of the series more.

The break down should be interesting. Honestly, each book probably cant hold an entire season by itself so maybe two books per season (for example: Season one:bad begining and reptile room, season two could be the one with the lady that lives on the cliff and one with the mill….so on and so forth). The only book that can possibly hold an entire season on its own is maybe the last two.

I love the books, and I’m actually quite a fan of the movie. But I think the Netflix model is the perfect place to truly capture these books!

Chapters more, chapters less, speculation goes to first season be til ‘The Wide Window’.

Yeah! They are obligated to try to catch the peculiar humor and the dark tone.

But what the movie did visually… woah… good luck trying to getting close to that level. The cinematography and the production design and the score are really important to this adaptation.

Marvelous stylish visuals are needed to create this story properly. I demand greatness and nothing less.

I would love for Brad Silberling to direct this because I love the movie! The casting will be tricky. I’m not sure if Jim Carey will be interested to make a TV series but he was just so perfect as Count Olaf. But who knows? It’s on Netflix and if they can get Spacey to do it then why not Carey. Besides, I haven’t seen him in a top tier project lately?

Either Susan Sarandon or Parker Posey should play aunt Josephine.

Casting count Olaf is going to be very difficult since Jim Carrey made the role so memorable.
