Gold Derby has been an avid supporter of Amy Poehler for years, through each and every one of her prior 17 Emmy losses. Now that Amy is hosting the “Saturday Night Live” Christmas episode (with Tina Fey), might she FINALLY win that elusive Emmy award?
Let’s help the “SNL” writers craft a perfect Emmy episode so that voters will have no other choice than to reward her a trophy. What are your Emmy-worthy ideas for how Amy & Tina can win? We’ll make a fun blog item out of this, so give us your most creative ideas!November 17, 2015 at 12:26 pm #365168
This is the first time since I think 2004 (with Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey) that two people will host a single episode of SNL.November 17, 2015 at 3:12 pm #365169
Considering the submissions meant exactly squat last year I’m not sure how to answer this. Maybe just hope she gets nominated Veep doesn’t submit in guest actress?November 17, 2015 at 4:43 pm #365170
It’d be awesome if she did a Hillary Clinton skit. And even though it would be so forced at this point since Sarah Palin is no longer relevant, I wouldn’t mind Tina playing Palin again.
They both need to be in Weekend Update.
Some skit of Tina and Amy hosting an awards show where everything goes wrong/crazy?
Any kind of game show skit.
There’s too many possibilities
The Emmys are dead to me until Amy wins an Emmy. I just want a classic episode.November 17, 2015 at 4:47 pm #365171
Are they going to give us some coins for these ideas? Lol.November 17, 2015 at 5:08 pm #365172
Emmy losers party sketch where Jon Hamm crashes to gloat about his win

First things first, let’s make sure Tina Fey isn’t submitted. She’s in a better position to get nominated and even win.November 17, 2015 at 6:32 pm #365174
Since they are both hosting wouldn’t they win together if one of them won???November 17, 2015 at 6:51 pm #365175
It would be a combo nomination, and there is precedent of the Emmys doing this before with Reality Host (Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum, who won the Emmy, all thx to Mr. Gunn!). That strengthens Amy Poehler’s case even more with Tina Fey attached to it. DIdn’t help with the Globes lol, but hopefully this will be different.November 17, 2015 at 7:37 pm #365176
The best idea I can offer is to have them both write everything they can and not let these writers ruin what should be an amazing episode. I bet they even screw up by letting O’Brien or Mooney put one of their sketches or shorts in the episode.
And these women doing Weekend Update is not really an idea, it’s something that will 100% happen.November 17, 2015 at 9:33 pm #365177
Just bring back Bronx Beat and bring Maya back as well. I need some new Bronx Beat in my life! Clinton/Palin would be great as well. Lots of friends better show up to make this like Fallon’s Emmy winning episodes!November 18, 2015 at 3:28 am #365178
If Fey gets nominated for this and for producing Kimmy Schmidt again, it would be her tenth consecutive year having multiple Emmy nominations. That has to be unprecedented right?November 18, 2015 at 5:14 am #365179
The emmy voters hate Amy. She’ll always be the bridesmaid, and never the Bride…November 18, 2015 at 9:12 am #365180
They would not submit together because guest actress is different from reality host.
