A few months ago, there was lots of complaining when it became painfully obvious that “Game of Thrones” was afraid of showing male full frontal nudity, but didn’t have the same problem when it came to female full frontal nudity.
Curious double standard? Coincidence? Who knows…
But it got me thinking, apart from “Game of Thrones,” what are some of the best examples of full frontal nudity on TV (both male and female) this year?
ReplyNovember 11, 2015 at 9:19 pm #364842The Affair is doing the best job in equality of nudity. They aren’t shy about showing anything
The Leftovers has had some as well
I can’t remember if Masters of Sex did any this season (Also I haven’t finished this season yet)
If American Horror Story wasn’t on FX I’m sure that would be on the top of the list since the wardrobe budget is like 8$ on this show
MTV also has been doing some with Faking It but since they are MTV they have to blur it out
I think people are starting to try to level the playing field finally. Just wish the movies did it too but the dumb misogynistic morons at the MPAA won’t let them. How on earth is it fair to have naked women be a R rating but show a penis and you are slapped with an NC17. It’s so sexist

November 12, 2015 at 1:28 am #364844Game of Thrones is a sexist misogynistic show and let’s leave it at that. This year? Maybe The Affair. But when it comes to ever it’s Oz. It was such a feast for the eyes. Dicks were flying like crazy. Dicks here, dicks there, dicks everywhere. We even had a butthole! Thank you, Christopher Meloni, you gorgeous piece of ass! Now I’m wathcing this show on Starz called Power. And Omari Hardwick is so hot and yet he doesn’t want to show his cock. I’m so disappointed. I’m sure he has a one nice pecker!

Btw I’m still waiting for some premium cable show to show a fully erect penis. Not some prosthetics but a fully erected veiny real dick! But I think we’re never gonna witness that. Such a shame.November 12, 2015 at 11:03 am #364848Game of Thrones is a sexist misogynistic show and let’s leave it at that. This year? Maybe The Affair. But when it comes to ever it’s Oz. Such a shame. In like, all of television’s defense, that requires the male actor to achieve and maintain an erection over the hour or so they might spend filming the scene, including between takes, while changing lights, multiple takes, going over lines, etc. These aren’t porn stars who do this for a living, easier said than done.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 12, 2015 at 11:48 am #364850The hypocrisy of GoT on this subject have been very frustrating, even the actresses on the show(Carice van Houten&Sibel Kekilli) acknlowdged it and called for more male nudity.
On the other hand, do you REALLY want to see an unerected cock?
If it’s the naturality you want you must prepare yourself to see a small, soft, wrinkled penis (because that’s how they are under the men’s pants %90 of the time) and I’m warning you, it has the ability to turn you off from both the actor and from the show.
It’s not the same thing with boobs or any other female parts which are just beautiful or ugly by their own way wtihout any preparation. A natural cock is like a deflated balloon and it’s disgusting. No women or gay men can turn on by looking at that.An actor should prepare himself ,even for a semi-hard cock, by trying to fanthasize things-maybe for hours- on the set in front of everyone to maintain that hardness and as has been said above they don’t shoot porn and they aren’t under any obligation to do that.

My suggestion is that if a director/actor doesn’t want to deal with all that shit(which is understandable) they should just skip the all the sex scenes on script and go with their own way. Either both or neither.Anonymous

I know how porn stars work, I’m married to one! And well, if he truly cares about his craft, he should go full on method. It’s not that hard (pun intended).November 12, 2015 at 12:12 pm #364852The Affair + The Leftovers + Sense8 definitely have shown people (mostly men) in their full glory this year. Lots of peen.
Casual on Hulu has also shown a lot of boobs and butt, more than I would have thought!
And I agree, American Horror Story would probably go all the way if it weren’t on FX.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 12, 2015 at 12:16 pm #364853The thing about FX though is that they CAN show nudity. Every network can. All they have to do is blur it. And then when it’s released on Bluray or streamed on Netflix, they can just un-blur it. I’m not sure why networks don’t do this, as they could then sell the Bluray releases as “unedited” and earn extra sales. Same with cursing. Networks can let their characters curse as much as Al Swearengen and just bleep them for the on-air screenings, but other than “American Crime” shows just don’t do this for some reason.

It has never made any sense to me why they don’t do it. They would have made so much money on DVD/Bluray sales if they did that. It’s so fucked up. Isn’t this industry about making money? Finally an interesting thread on these forums!
