It’s definitely a love or hate TV Series for most (I personally love intense melodrama), but I do think Liza Weil as Bonnie Winterbottom did a wonderful job in supporting this season and she definitely deserves awards consideration next to the equally wonderful Viola Davis (in lead) and lovely Famke Janssen (in guest).

I know I should’ve post this to the official thread, but I feel like her performance is perfectly deserving of a topic if it brings some attention to her. She’s really the unsong hero of this season for me. Someone who possibly has no chance for Emmy consideration, but is deserving as hell.

What do you think? I honestly don’t see how Christine Baranski or Emilia Clarke would deserve it more than she does…but maybe that’s just me.

She absolutely does deserve an Emmy nomination! She has a few emmy-worthy subnissions. Definitely a longshot. But not completely mpossible.

The Good Wife hasn’t finished yet(the finale could give Baranski some baity material) and GoT hasn’t even premiered.

I agree that Liza Weil deserves to be nominated for an Emmy.  Also, I think that this show needs to get more Emmy nominations because season two has been on fire.  I think it deserves a Best Drama nomination.

It doesn’t really matter – HTGAWWM hasn’t finished yet either – still, Liza Weil is deserving as f*ck.

Emilia Clark is a pretty, but her performance on GOT is just not strong enough overall to be included again.

I do agree that HTHAWWM should make it for Best Drama Series as well, but that’s not happening.

Oh, please. I love Game of Thrones, but the actors on that show barely have the material or episode to beat anyone or be nominated. I’m over Baranski completely.

Liza deserves the nomination and maybe a win.

    Wait a minute.
How could you have known Liza Weil would be worthy of a nomination before the second season started?

Liza Weil is even prettier. Lol. I honestly don’t have any clue what’s that supposed to mean. But I guess that should be expected coming from you since you also said a similar thing about this category last year that Froggatt and other nominees are pretty and young girls and Baranski would win, because she’s not.

Sometimes juicy materials come early to an actor and sometimes later.
Apparently Liza belonged in the first group and maybe Baranski belongs in the latter. Although, yes, admittedly she doesn’t play a character that has the potential of scream, cry and other baity things on screen no matter whatever happens to her.

LOL @ the mention of a Best Drama series nomination….

I love this show but it frequently goes off the rails (like Empire) and it’s not even close to being a prestige Emmy-esque drama. It’s soapy and fun but it’s not like the writers are writing beautiful metaphor and meaning-filled episodes. It’s literally who killed who, and why, and a platform for Viola Davis to act. That said, Liza Weil is great! Not really Emmy-worthy IMO though.

There are some really standout episdoes (“Mama’s Here Now”; “What Did We Do?”) but as a whole, this show is pretty mediocre. I still love it though!!!

All of my gay friends love it. I think it’s one or two league above of Shonda’s other shows. It’s campy but sometimes it tries to be clever? Definitely better than multiple nominee AHS crap?? At least more consistent. You don’t see Annalise getting mad at someone and try to use them as a dartboard. And I can follow the story whenever I see it on TV without worrying about what have I missed on the past 5-6 episodes. Which is good, I guess? I mean, the writers are obviously aware of the fact that they are writing a network show that focuses on a certain demograph, so soapiness and endless cliffhangers are like the order of God. But, yeah, since they don’t talk in a poshy British accent, no one will take this show seriously aside from their Oscar nominee lead.

Best Drama Series? Hmmmm, I guess. Once again, only for the second half of Season 2 (and the shit ain’t even done yet). I’m kinda glad that they’re developing Laurel more. But the other characters, ehhhh. Wes has become even more annoying (even though the boy is so handsome, he’s GRATING. And that’s probably a mix of Enoch’s performance and the way his character is written). Who tf even gives a shit about Michaela? Connor got annoying after acting uber ungrateful towards Annalise. Nate? Pfff. Asher.. (Who are you?).

Michaela is my favorite character and Aja Naomi King is superb. I like all the characters, but Wes’. I don’t even think he’s ‘handsome’ that much.

Well, Emilia Clarke was never ever Emmy-worthy….so I doubt it’s going to change now. Weil was good last year, but only Emmy-worthy this year.

About your comment on me saying stuff last year. I think that was someone else. I was the one telling people that Heady is not winning. And I was damn right. Froggatt and Aduba are hardly pretty. Baranski is not pretty either. Headey – maybe, not my type. Clarke is pretty. Hendricks is hot.

Oh well. Great performances should totally happen even for “mediocore” shows. I don’t know who Emmy-worthy is, if Liza Weil isn’t…..like come on…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2C9nyytPiM

I for one think this season would make it a worthy outstanding drama series contender as some of the other foolishness that has gotten in. But back to Liza… What’s the stronger submission for her? “Meet Bonnie” or “I Want you to Die”?

Do any of them like Empire or don’t care for it? Tbh, when the show first came out, I didn’t even think white people would even be close to enjoying it or considering it as one of the best new shows of 2015 until I looked at comments and reviews/publications. Shit, I didn’t even think I would like it as much as I do.

Really? White people at my college love it. It’s the talk of the campus. My friends love it as well. They usually get together on Wednesdays and watch it. They make me sick.

I think there is no such thing as “gay” or “black” / “white” shows. I’m both white and straight and I fucking love “HTGAWWM” (it made me a Viola Davis stan, I mean read my comments about her before….finallly she’s playing a complex and sexy character and not another maid. I also loved the first three seasons of “Grey’s Anatomy” and Sandra/Sara/Chandra in it. I also loved the first four seasons of “AHS” especially Sarah Paulson/Lily Rabe/Finn Wittrock/Kathy Bates/Denis O’Hare in it. I adored “Scream Queens” (Niecy Nash & Lea Michele & Jamie Lee Curtis are all awards worthy), had fun during “Nip/Tuck” (Famke Janssen, marry e!). So basically I’m into soapy stuff. And Ryan Murphy stuff. And I don’t really like him or find him talented. That’s the weird part, but for some reason his actors making me love his projects. And Shonda’s, although Shonda is way more talented. But I also like “American Crime” “Lost” “True Blood” “The Walking Dead” “Charmed” “7th Heaven” “Pushing Daisies” “The Comeback” – so I’m pretty much a chameleon among genres. For me there are two types – the show I like, and the show I don’t like.

I think “HTGAWM” has pretty good writing, though. And the acting is just superb. Too much crying? Of course. Do I mind? Nope. Love them all. And like I said Liza is especially great this year. Next to Viola and Famke in guest, she should totally get that nomination. Last year I really wanted Jack to happen as well, but his performance is not worthy this time. It’s not bad, but he’s like the weakest next to Alfred this season. I love Aja Naomi King, rooting for her at the Oscars as well. Charlie Webber is good. Karla Souza is great. Matt is not the biggest acting talent, but he’s good this season. The woman who played Sinclair was also very spot on. And Cicely Tyson was just robbed last year.
