I am having trouble finding what Marcia Cross submitted for consideration for Season 3 and 4 of Desperate Housewives. This was back when they had the panels and people hoping to be nominated had to submit a tape, and then a top 10 was determined. I have found tapes for all the other cast, except for her. So can someone please help me out???

2007: Listen to the Rain on the Roof (301)
    2008: Now You Know (401)

Question: Do you know what she submitted in 2006?

She also submitted the season premiere (Episode 201: Next) in 2006.

she couldn’t go with other option than the premiere of season 2, that scene with her changing the tie in Rex’s body should have given to Marcia a nomination and a win.

I think the season 2 episode “I Wish I Could Forget You” was better than the season premiere for her to submit.

Speaking of which, does anyone know how Alfre Woodard managed to get nominated, especially her god-awful submission choices? I mean, the fact that she didn’t submit the two part season finale was horrible decision!

I remember somebody saying that “Could I Leave you?” (is that the one with Danielle’s birthday party?) should have been her submission for season 2 alongside “Next” but anyway, Marcia Cross has had a superb season this year and should be nominated (or WIN) for Bree this year…..lol just saying…

Popularity determined the nominees for supporting comedy and drama in 2006.  The panel system did not come into play until 2007 for the supporting comedy and drama categories.

I Wish I Could Forget You was Teri’s submission and god knows why, she was incredible in the wedding dress scene with Mike, Hatcher totally stole the episode for her with just that scene, I think would’ve been a bad decision if Cross had submitted this.

Well, it was a bad decision for them all to submit it since it didn’t work.. In retrospect (I have only ever watched seasons 1&2, plus Huffman’s submission ‘Bang’) I have NEVER seen an Emmy backlash against a show as Desperate Housewives. I won’t comment on whether it was deserved or not (Lord knows I stopped watching) but I almost want to say it was unprecedented. Generally speaking when a show is let into the club, they are let in until cancellation or a series finale. DH joined ‘the club’ with such a force during its premiere season that Goldderby was near-positive we were going to have a Golden Girls-type situation of revolving Lead Actress in a Comedy wins for its cast. Has a show ever been so widely let in and then so widely shut out in just one season?

If the panel system had never existed, in 2006 Huffman (a previous winner and recent Oscar nominee) and probably either Hatcher or Cross would have made top 5. A series nod for season 2 was still likely, but that could be one last nod. Not sure if its sophomore slump was strong enough to wipe out any possiblity of nominations in the main categories under the popular vote system.

I would love to have a Let’s Get Marcia Cross Nominated for an Emmy campaign.  I know that an Emmy nomination is wishful thinking about Marcia Cross, but I really get happy when actors win the awards that they richly deserve.  I was very happy over Margo Martindale’s win last year for Justified and for Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen.

I don’t understand why Hatcher wasn’t nominated for the season 2, especially since she submitted “I Wish I Could Forget You”. She had two amazing scenes in that episode. The first where Paul Young is standing in her kitchen, and shes reaching for a knife. And then, probably the most powerful scene of the season, the wedding dress scene with Mike. Sophomore slump or not, she deserved to win for that episode!

The unfortunate factor of season 2 is that it’s remembered as the sophomore slump that continued on (never regaining the magic season one had)…I, however, also remember it as the season that Marcia Cross shined the brightest.
