I’m curious to know who everyone thinks actually has the best possible episode submissions of the TV season?

I’m not simply talking about a “competitive tape”. I mean a knock-down, drag-out, blow-away-the-competition episode from a performer that would almost guarantee a victory.

For me there are a few:

Chloe Sevigny – “The Noose Tightens”

Jane Adams – “Fat Off My Love or I’m The Allergen”

    Martha Plimpton – “Say Cheese”

    &

    Shawn Hatosy – “Code 4”

Margo Martindale-“The Spoil” and “Bloody Harlan”…she IMO had the best performance on television all season long

    Steve Carell-“Goodbye, Michael”

    – Danny Pudi, Community, “Critical Film Studies” (he could win just for the speech about Cougar Town)

    – Amy Poehler, Parks and Recreation, “Flu Season”

    – Michael C. Hall, Dexter, “My Bad” (could even beat “The Suitcase” with this episode)

Those are the only ones I remember off the top of my head. Episodes tend to blend together in my head when I remember performances, especially on serialized shows.

The Jane Adams mention is spot on. People really don’t give “Hung” the credit it deserves, because both

Thomas Jane and especially Jane Adams delivered Emmy worthy work last season. It’s a shame they’ll likely

never see the recognition they deserve.

    I’ll also add:

Nick Offerman, “Parks and Recreation” (“Ron and Tammy: Part Two”)

Adam Scott, “Parks and Recreation” (“Media Blitz”)

Khandi Alexander, “Treme” (“On Your Way Down”)

Garret Dillahunt, “Raising Hope” (“Burt Rocks” or “Snip Snip”)

Emmy Rossum, “Shameless” (“But At Last Came A Knock”)

Matt Czuchry, “The Good Wife” (“Silly Season”)

Rosemarie DeWitt, “United States of Tara” (“…youwillnotwin…”)

    G’Day,

The one that comes to mind so far is “The Gowanas Canal has Gonooreah!” for Ted Danson on Bored to Death. Brilliant and funny perfomance with strong range.
