I binged the whole series this summer. Such a binge-able show- fun, light and really well-done. It definitely deserved its series and directing wins, I personally believe they should have won both categories for season 6 too. It’s a shame all 6 adult actors didn’t win at one point. I can understand Ferguson and O’Neill’s strong work going unnoticed but Vergara is just as much of a scene stealer as Burrell & Stonestreet and should have easily won for seasons 2 and/or 4. Seasons 7 & 8 were definitely a drop-off in quality, but not as much as most people say. It still deserves its “name-check” noms for Series and Burrell. And we’ve got at least 2 seasons left. I wonder if the show can get series nominations every year of its run.September 28, 2017 at 7:01 am #1202225595
Pretty dullsville premier. We’ve seen multiple variations of all these stories before from these people. The only amusing bits were Cam’s first appearance in full caftan regalia and Luke’s bewildered comment during the “Total Eclipse of the Heart” singalong–“Is this a song?”
It’s a shame Kyle Bornheimer can’t find a good series of his own. He deserves one.September 28, 2017 at 9:08 am #1202225662
Liked this episode but loved the scene where the kids were sitting there and she asked for a mirror. That had me rolling. My grade: B+September 28, 2017 at 2:49 pm #1202225932
I loved “Lake Life”. I thought it was a great way to start off a new season. I loved Cam’s outfit when he first came out. I also laughed at Jay putting sunscreen on Phil. The kids on the island about the mirror was funny, too. My favorite part was the end when they were singing Total Eclipse of the Heart.October 4, 2017 at 1:13 pm #1202230085
Vanessa Williams guest stars on tonight’s episode of Modern Family.October 4, 2017 at 6:41 pm #1202230333
“The Long Goodbye” was an okay episode. I loved the Joe scenes the best. Especially when he said he was going to trap Santa by giving him sleeping pills in his cookies. I also liked the Luke/Hailey scenes.
I forgot Pam was staying with Cam and Mitchell. The best part was at the end when they said they were good people, it’s their sisters who are bad.October 5, 2017 at 7:03 am #1202230596
I loved the scene in the hallway where Phil was like “extreme pressure” or whatever he said and the machine picked that up. I was dying. This wasn’t as good as last week but that scene is easily in my top 10 from this show ever lol. My grade: BOctober 6, 2017 at 9:01 am #1202231494
God i love this show … PAM kills me … ” im the only responsible one … bam as the baby falls ) so great. Haley is one of my favs, joe was great and Phil and Claire in the wind tunnel and playing with the machines was hysterical …. Phil is always soooo funny for me.

“Catch of the Day” was a good episode. Sarah Hyland shined in this episode. I enjoyed the Cam/Mitch/Pam story the best. I love the Cam and Pam sibling relationship. I also loved the scene between Jay and Joe and the ice cream. That was funny. Joe’s had some good lines this year. It was nice to see Rob Riggle back as Gil, even if it was just for a short scene.October 12, 2017 at 5:02 am #1202235445
“Catch of the Day” was the strongest episode of the season so far. All of the stories worked and gave all the cast members (save Luke and Alex) moments to shine.October 19, 2017 at 7:55 am #1202242384
“Sex, Lies and Kickball” was another great episode. There were some great lines last night.
Joe: “I can be bigger”.
Lily: “I’m the least busy Asian kid in my class.”
Lily: “You guys don’t leave a lot of space to jump into your conversations. ”
Pepper: “How many scenes does kickball have?”.
I love it when Nathan Lane guest stars. MF has really been great this year.October 19, 2017 at 7:57 am #1202242386
Best part of last night’s was Nathan Lane’s guest work.
Pepper: [spitting out a Cheeto]: What fromagerie is this–
Cam: It’s from Lubbock, Texas.
Pepper: You son of a bitch!
The other pieces were a little odd. The sex painting felt a little forced and I’m not sure the level of hostility between Alex and Claire was fully motivated. As for Jay and his friend… meh. It felt like a commercial for Wicked and I can’t figure out the connection… MF is a Twentieth-Century Fox production and Universal produced Wicked.
