Mom was set to return this coming monday but CBS has now pushed it back to October 30th with the return of The Millers and new show The McCarthy’s and Big Bang Theory’s return to this time slot. Then they will be going back to monadys after winter break. More info

My head hurts trying to figure out what CBS is doing here. I don’t know if it’s a good decision. It has some (*some*) heat coming from Allison Janney’s Emmy win, and I totally understand wanting to put the show behind “The Big Bang Theory,” but wouldn’t it have still been behind the show when it premiered this Monday? Is CBS that desperate for ratings that they’re starting repeats in the second week of the season?! Yuck. Pushing the show back to 10/30 and moving it to Thursdays, only to move it back to Mondays two months later…I just don’t see this working out, which sucks because “Mom” is so deserving of success after a great first season.

This whole scheduling clusterfuck is all gonna come crashing down on CBS once this nonsense affects Big Bang & Mom’s stellar ratings.
All this just for Scorpion? I mean seriously. I didn’t see them going out of their way like this for THE CRAZY ONES last year. There’s only so much juggling viewers can take.
And airing repeats of Big Bang right after a new episode on Mondays? Why can’t they just give that repeat slot after Big Bang to Mom. That way it will have a stellar lead in. Or better yet, leave things as they were.

“Mom” doesn’t deserve all of this time slot switching. This is just after it was reported that CBS was committed to giving the show a big rollout and boost for season 2.

This move makes no sense to me. But whatever. Scorpion will be canceled and Allison Janney will win more Emmys.

Nice start to the season, but a definite downer with the eviction storyline. Anna Faris carried this episode on her shoulders well. Cool to see Jaime Pressly back doing something again. Allison Janney had a joke here that I’m surprised got through network censors. But it’s a Chuck Lorre sitcom, so maybe I shouldn’t be all that surprised.

Grade for “Hepatitis & Lemon Zest”: B

CBS is on fire. Second season premiere of MOM drew a massive 11.72m viewers and rating share of A18-49 (2.7) and A25-54 (4.0).  Series highs for MOM in all these measures.

I can’t wait to see last night’s episode. I love Jaime Pressly.

Jaime Pressly really didn’t do much at all, and considering she is an emmy winner, I am suprised they didn’t give her more and I wonder if she is going to be in any more episodes.

I must say, I really appreciated that even as the first episode after Janney’s Emmy win, they kept to this show being about Anna Faris, and Janney did not really have her own plotline but was pretty funny. Both of them are very good on this show, and Mim Kennedy is also delightful.

This show has only gotten better, and I cannot wait to see what they do this year.

I wish Mimi Kennedy would’ve gotten a guest nom on season one. She is just as good on the show as Janney and Faris (and depending on the episode, sometimes even better). The show’s female ensemble is very strong.

She has a major recurring role this season.

I thought it was a pretty dissaspointing premiere. Janney is as great as usual and Farris doesn’t come off as cheesy as she usualy does but I don’t know, I only laughed out loud like once or twice.

    B-

I’m assuming the next couple episodes will get better because of all the hype this season has been getting (81 out of 100 on Metacritic)

The dramatic foundation on which the comedy is based keeps getting more pronounced! Bonnie trying to break the tension with the mud wrestling for money proposal was a real example. Marjorie’s chemo line was funny.
