I’m asking about actors or shows that were widely expected to be nominated but then weren’t, not who you wanted to or personally thought would be nominated, but who the majority of people thought would be nominated. I guess like Uzo Aduba last year. This is the first year I’m really getting into the emmys and paying attention to who people think will get nominations so I don’t really have anyone, but most of you here seem to have been doing this for a lot longer so I assume you guys can name some.

Eric Stonestreet was a big one. As was lack of Empire Arrested Development. Thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

I’m surprised Courteney Cox never got nominated for Friends.

Eric Stonestreet randomly getting snubbed after being nominated at GG and SAG was stunning.

Also when they thankfully snubbed Parsons in 2015, that was a surprise.

I remember that a lot of people were surprised when Jane Krakowski wasn’t nominated last year.

Oh and Dame Maggie Smith getting snubbed in 2015. Come to think of it, that was a crazy year of snubs.

I’m still mad she didn’t get in. She should have won. Maybe she can get back in this year.

I’m excited to see what character she plays this time.

I’m kinda reminded of how originally Dratch was supposed to get a nice assortment of characters to play on 30 Rock, except they were not very memorable showcases. While Fey’s characters in both S1 and S2 were highlights.

Definitely Smith in 2015. At the time, I thought that it just meant the voters had moved on from her character but her being the only Downton nominee and winning just a year later makes her missing out that one year so baffling (particularly given it was the year where she had the best material).

I remember that a lot of people were surprised when Jane Krakowski wasn’t nominated last year.

I also remember thinking she was a shoo-int for S1 of 30 Rock. I still don’t understand how she wasn’t nominated for Hardball.

Did Tina Fey not getting nominated for 30 Rock have anything to do with her already being nominated with Poehler for SNL? Has anyone ever been nominated for 2 different shows in one category, is that even allowed?

Yes, it is allowed in the guest categories. No, it hasn’t happened yet.

Didn’t Angela Lansbury get nominated for both Law and Order SVU and L&O Trial By Jury for a crossover event they did?

Give Paul Thomas Anderson an Oscar.
