I hear Lansbury has been approached to be a part of the reboot.” OMG, finally that elusive Emmy? Her profile should be raised next year by her Honorary Oscar already.

I can almost see a Bob Newhart type of thing happening with Lansbury.

Good for Octavia, too! I love her.

Normally, I think all “reboots” should be flushed down a giant toilet. If one gets Octavia Spencer a chance to headline a series, though, I’m all for it.

NBC needs another Ironside? I’d rather see Octavia Spencer in a comedy series.
It will be weird if Angela Lansbury finally wins Emmy for Murder, She Wrote, but as a guest actress.

I was hoping this was some joke thread or one of those “what ifs” scenarios, but it’s sadly not either.

Those were my first thoughts as well. Because “Ironside” was such a big hit? And Octavia Spencer should be in a comedy series.

Maybe this is be retooled as more of a comedy, something like Monk?

I’m not a fan of reboots, but perhaps this finally gives Angela Lansbury her Emmy and for her iconic role too.

I’m tired of seeing old “white shows” being re-made with a lead Black Character ( Im black, so its ok, im not a racist..lol)
Octavia Spencer should give back that Oscar now..Truth be told, Viola was a supporting character and SHE should’ve won for The Help
NBC sucks now..97% of their shows are watched by 4 million or less people.

Ironside all over again, but hopefully this will be good.

If they can get Angela Lansbury to guest star I’m all for it. I doubt it’ll happen though.

The thing is, Octavia Spencer is wildly likable – she is sassy and funny. Blair Underwood is also likable, but he’s been in a lot of misfires
(I will be honest – I always thought Octavia should win her Emmy for starring in a TV movie remake of Sister Act )

Unecessary remake. Some shows never need to be remade (ex: The Golden Girls, Cheers, Murder She Wrote, etc) becuase they were perfect the way they were. Sorry NBC but this is Ironside and that Munsters remake all over again.

I think the only show the wouldn’t remake is Seinfeld…for obvious reasons

Agreed. Speaking of that comic genius, NBC was better off getting Jerry to write a new sitcom and even if he didn’t star in it, at least it wouldn’t be a remake of another show.
