“Gilmore Girls” fans, what are your thoughts of the show returning to Netflix? Per our sister site TV Line, the new season “will consist of four 90-minute episodes/mini-movies.”

I’m really eager to see if Emmys finally bite now that
    A) it’s Netflix not “ew WB/CW.”
    B) it would presumably be entered as a Limited Series, which is far less competitive than Series.

    Esp for Graham.

My thoughts: I hope it doesn’t suck.

Yeah I hope it’s the ending on par with what was originally envisioned. I must say though the idea that this will go down so soon after Edward Hermann’s passing (There’s just no way they’re not going to have had Richard pass too.) should give them all AMAZING material to work with.

That’s a pretty creepy thing to say.

Didn’t follow the emmy’s back then and didn’t watch Gilmore Girls, but I’m probably gonna at least predict Lauren Graham to get in for the Movie/Limited Actress, but not much else. With the show going up on Netflix a year ago it’s kind of had a resurgence (probably why this is happening), and I can tell you that the people who love it, really fucking love it. And maybe some of the teenagers and 20-somethings who were obsessed with it ten years ago are voters now and will help carry her over. It will be funny if she does finally get nominated for an emmy for playing Lorelai after being snubbed the whole show run despite getting in at the Globes, SAG, and TCA. Again don’t watch the show, but in retrospect it is pretty surprising.

One of the best shows ever made. I don’t think Netflix will change it too much. The creators didn’t get to end it on their own terms, so it’s fitting. It shouldn’t run too long.

This really has become a trend that I don’t mind at all. It just makes me wonder if film-adaptations will be put to rest in place of revived seasons. For example, would the cast of Sex and the City be willing to do another season opposed to a third film? Would the cast of Friends agree to another season? The sky is the limit…

I haven’t ever watched Gilmore Girls, but it’s always been on my shows to check out. I guess this will push to the top of the queue. Interesting that it said Melissa McCarthy wouldn’t be back. How is that already decided, and why wouldn’t she? Wasn’t she a series regular?

They said she probably wouldn’t be back. I am hoping that probably means she will be on the show anyway. Why wouldn’t she return to the show that made her a recognizable face?

Started watching in Season 2 and watched faithfully the rest of the way. I am beyond excited about this news. I am intrigued to see how Amy would end it. Although the final season wasn’t as good as previous ones, but some of that was Amy’s fault because of season 6 (secret daughter anyone?) But it was one of the finest shows of the 2000s and Lauren Graham and Kelly Bishop should have reaped Emmy noms and at least 1 statuette each (if not more). I will wait as patiently as I can for this to air. Although I’m sure my profile pic and signature kinda make it obvious haha

exact toughts are: WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!

This show was lovely, and a great source of obsession in my teenage years. I dare to say this was the best show CW/WB has ever made.
