“Narcos” chronicles the gripping real-life stories of the drug kingpins of the late 1980s and the corroborative efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. It details the conflicting forces – legal, political, police, military and civilian – that clash in an effort to control the world’s most powerful commodity: cocaine. The 10-episode series re-partners creator and executive producer José Padilha (,) with Brazilian actor Wagner Moura (,) as a captivating Pablo Escobar alongside Boyd Holbrook () and Pedro Pascal (“Game of Thrones”) as real-life DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Peña.
Streaming starts tomorrow, 8/28.August 27, 2015 at 4:58 pm #359362
Well, I’m reluctant in watching this, I honestly have no idea what reception “Wagner Moura” will get, but the trailer looks good and it is Netflix, seems like a must see. Padilha’s work in Elite Squad deserved oscar atention, hope this get’s him back in the loop, and wipes whatever “Robocop” has ventiled in his direction.August 27, 2015 at 6:00 pm #359363
I am so in love witih Wagner Moura that I’ll probably binge watch this show in like, 1 day. He is one of the best brazillian actor out there, and the show looks great in the teaser. Also, I love the 70’s feeling the show will have.August 28, 2015 at 7:31 am #359364
Finished episode 1, definetely giving it a go for the full season.August 28, 2015 at 12:34 pm #359365
Well, this line from episode 3 .
– You are meeting with politicians, not with gangsters
– Aren’t they the same thing boss?
– Politician scare easily.August 29, 2015 at 12:01 pm #359366
Fernando Coimbra’s direction in episode 7 is eletric, I think the chase scene with that Kid and Javier Peña was cinematic. Outstanding work.August 29, 2015 at 1:34 pm #359368

His film Wof at the Door is outstanding. Check it out.
Yes , I have seen it, it is indeed outstanding, can’t believe no one is seems to be watching this show, this is miles better than true detectives last season, Wagner Moura , despite not being able to handle completely the Colombian accent , is really a presence and takes over the entire show as he is supposed to. Adriana Bazarra and Juan Pablo Raba show their acting skills on episode 8, it is a good thing the show is not what some people were afraid of..that being, another show focused solely on americans trying to prosecute latinos , it really is more than that, almost all the focus is around Escobar and the colombian government while the americans are mostly sidelined for a good portion of the episodes.August 30, 2015 at 7:54 am #359369
I watched the pilot, and thought it was too didatic for my taste. The voice-over narration is not my cup of tea, and the lenght of the episode ended up being a turn off. That said, the direction is really refreshing, and Wagner Moura continues to surprise me. I’ll watch more today.August 30, 2015 at 11:10 am #359370
Wagner Moura accent is so wrong in so many levels…..but other than that this is really good.September 1, 2015 at 12:33 am #359371
I just finished the season and I loved it. Is very engaging , the direction is excellent ( Fernando Coimbra nailed in all episode he directed) , the cinematography is beautiful, using red and green colors ( reminded me Breaking Bad ‘s cinematography). I am very happy with this series because more people will know Wagner Moura, I always like to see him acting and he is incredible in this series.September 1, 2015 at 4:25 pm #359372
It think episode 7 should be submited solely for directing if the show is nominated in miniseries.September 1, 2015 at 5:29 pm #359373
So this can’t be a miniseries because the story should continue onto season two if you watched episode 10 (Despegue) you know that the story is hasn’t ended, probably (hopefully) there will be a second season tho finish Escobar storyline.September 1, 2015 at 7:10 pm #359374
I know, I just said that because, so far we haven’t had any news on renewals and such, but based on the critical acclaim and the reception by the general public, I’m sure it will be renewed. I’m curious in what you all think theyshould submit in directing / writing?September 1, 2015 at 7:42 pm #359375
Directing: You Will Cry Tears of Blood (Episode 7)
Writing: La Gran Mentira (Episode 8) or maybe the finale.
Drama Series: Descenso (Episode 1), The Palace in Flames (Episode 4), Explosivos (Episode 6), You Will Cry Tears of Blood. La Gran Mentira, Despegue (Episode 10)
Drama Actor: Wagner Moura – La Catedral (Episode 9)
But I think Narcos will not receive Emmy’s attention.
