New Girl’s 5th season premieres tonight, January 5th with its episode titled “Big Mama P”
Looking forward to the new season! If it’s as good as the surprisingly fresh Season 4 was, we’re all in for a treat.January 5, 2016 at 6:25 pm #366703
Still love this show!January 6, 2016 at 4:50 am #366704
I didn’t think it was a good premiere, all the jokes involving Jess felt forced, Winston’s “Prank Sinatra” thing is always fun but I think it failed this time, here’s hoping for it to improve as the season goes.January 6, 2016 at 12:26 pm #366705
Not the strongest premiere. I had high hopes especially since we fans had to wait so long. Winston is almost always the comedic gem of each episode and he certainly didn’t fail this time around with his ‘Prank Sinantra’ bit.
I feel like the could have made the premiere about something other than Schmidt and Cece’s engagement party, but I guess the writers wanted to remind us that they’re getting married. Everything with Jess felt a bit off-kilter. Will this whole season just be about the wedding?

Some brilliant stuff on that episode, could this be a contender for writing?January 27, 2016 at 1:24 pm #366708

Unfortunately I think New Girl is done @ the Emmys. A few episodes last year deserved writing nods though (specifically “Landline” and “Clean Break”)
Sure but, did you watch that episode?? What do you think? Anyone? Lamorne Morris, it is past the time he is recognized, strongest cast member for at least two seasons now.January 27, 2016 at 1:57 pm #366709
Winston def passed Schmidt as my favorite character on New Girl.February 5, 2016 at 4:09 pm #366710
That last episode was crazy, once again, for Lamorne Morris, he is incredible.
How can Nick lose a glass superfull of milk? LOL.
I think the start of this season has been pretty strong so far.
The show is holding pretty strong with Zooey Deschanel’s absence and her maternity leave situation.April 12, 2016 at 1:32 pm #1201673872
New Girl has been renewed for a 6th season! I’m so happy!April 12, 2016 at 10:37 pm #1201673951
Put this show out of its miseryApril 13, 2016 at 8:57 am #1201674007
They will be at 116 episodes after this season and the last episode rated a 0.9—amazing how low the bar is for the big four these days.April 13, 2016 at 10:10 am #1201674021

4/12 got a 1.1 – and remember, normally it’s up against The Voice and Fresh Off The Boat.
We’ll see how low the bar goes when Fox decides what to do with Grandfathered and The Grinder.
Besides – Fox has a 2-hour hole in its midseason schedule thanks to American Idol leaving (“for now,” although I doubt Simon Fuller wants it back on broadcast TV), and I don’t think Sleepy Hollow will get a fourth season (and has Scream Queens been given another season?), although that is on Friday so they could always fill the slot with another instant repeat of something. I also notice that Famous will premiere on a Sunday night at 9, which could mean that Fox might be thinking about shuffling the Sunday schedule around – say, to something like:
7:30 – Bob’s Burgers
8:00 – The Simpsons
8:30 – Family Guy
9:00 – New Girl
9:30 – The Last Man on EarthApril 13, 2016 at 10:55 am #1201674029
Ratings for last night’s episode were not out when I commented and the episode had not even aired when the show was renewed.
