The Nicole Kidman dud ‘Grace of Monaco’ in which she portrays actress Grace Kelly is coming to Lifetime and skipping theaters, making her (and the film) eligible for Emmy consideration (and SAG and Golden Globes on the tv side). The film would’ve been DOA as a theatrical release, so this might be a smart decision. I think it’ll at least be an easy Golden Globe nod for Kidman. Thoughts?April 7, 2015 at 7:25 pm #345802
Hmmm I’m not sure about this. Nicole Kidman may get name ticked come voting time. This film could do well at the Emmys in the Creative Arts categories. I think it would get costumes, art direction, cinematography and possibly casting nominations. With Tim Roth, Frank Langella and Parker Posey in the cast it could also surprise with nominations for them.
It seems like it would be an easy option for the Golden Globes to nominate Nicole Kidman, they love inviting big stars.April 7, 2015 at 7:35 pm #345803
This is probably for the best. Even though the film was universally panned, I’m still looking forward to seeing it.April 7, 2015 at 8:07 pm #345804
I already downloaded this and fell asleep halfway through it last year and it apparently grossed twenty-seven million internationally, so it is amazing that this will be eligible for Emmys now.
It is such a dud that it may just end up with the obligatory Nicole Kidman nomination, but it could easily also score nominations for Tim Roth, Frank Langella, costumes, hairstyling and makeup.April 7, 2015 at 8:16 pm #345805
This thread title made me laugh. Poor Nicole.
The airdate is Monday, May 25, 2015 at 8 PM ET on Lifetime. It’s a true dud with it airing on actual Memorial Day lol.
Adjust your Emmy predictions accordingly.April 7, 2015 at 10:02 pm #345806
This came out on one of my movie sites like a year ago…. At least “The Immigrant” won’t be the film w/the worst release as of late.April 7, 2015 at 10:22 pm #345807

My mom dragged me to see this film when it hit theaters in my country. It was very cheesy and cloying. Emmy voters need to refrain from nominating this film in major categories including Nicole Kidman. Even Lifetime deserves better than this.Marcus Snowden (The Artist Formerly Known as msnowden1)ParticipantApril 8, 2015 at 5:54 am #345810
It figures. Lifetime usually shows shitty movies, and this is another one. This movie sucks, and I hope that the Emmys will ignore this all around. They still might name check Kidman, though.April 8, 2015 at 9:21 am #345812
I might be the only person saying this, but I am going to go out on a limb and make a bet right now that Nicole Kidman is not going to get nominated for this film. In all relaity it will likiely be forgotten the day after it airs and I would not be surprised if Lifetime does not even bother submitting it for nominations.
I have no idea why they bothered purchasing this film, but I would not be so sure they are going to give this a campaign or not. If this was actually a project they created this might be a different story, but I doubt they are going to waste/spend much money promoting or campaigning for someone else’s pile of garbage. Especially when they have their own work to promote and campaign for.April 8, 2015 at 10:03 am #345813
They paid big money for this and will campaign it accordingly.April 8, 2015 at 10:08 am #345814
^Do you have an actual source, verfication, Link, or anything that officially states the above information at all? Or is that just your opinion? I would like some verification of the above as this really sounds like a totally random move on the art of the A&E network.
