Lots of shows that should have threads, don’t.

Premieres in a few hours! How does this look?

I really liked this show. It has a solid premise that could last years; and I think it’s generally well written, well produced and well acted.     The two leads have chemistry against each other and the concept will last.   Ratings were good as well.  19.something million viewers watched, and it got a 7.something in the demos.

Boy there must be something wrong with me.  Completely and utterly bored by this show.  Didn’t smile at all, other than at the hot guy who kept getting naked.  Not a single original line or thought.  This show is just a ranchier version of the Odd Couple, only without talented leads like Randall and Klugman.  And why did this show need to get sooo filthy.  I mean really…jokes about coming?  Not only crass, but completely unoriginal.  I was as if this show was winking at me saying, “loook how dirty I can be.”

I liked the pilot, but I agree it was unnecessarily dirty.  My thought/hope is that that was Whitney Cummings’ influence, and since she’s not involved much going forward, because she has her own awful show to focus on, that won’t be relied upon in the future.

There’s no character who didn’t just feel like a personified stereotype, except maybe Max at times, but it was a pilot, so I won’t necessarily hold that against it.

Well, Beth Behrs certainly gets the “most improved” award here. I thought she seemed much more comfortable in the role and her character worked better. That being said, no real improvement or decline from the pilot. All the supporting players (the men and the rich housewife) are terribly unfunny so something needs to be done there. I will give this another episode or two but it’s not looking great.

I agree it was kind of like the pilot, which was fantastic IMO. I don’t really laugh out loud during comedy shows, but I seem to at least once in this show. Kat Dennings could make an Emmy appearence for this show, because she HILARIOUS!

    Overall, a pretty good episode!

Grade for “The Breakup Scene”: B+   MVP: Dennings

    1.”Pilot”: A-   MVP: Dennings

I fell in love with this show! It’s probably the funniest new show of the season. And if any new comedic actress deserves awards attention it’s Kat Dennings, not that overrated and untalented Zooey Deschanel (her sister is much superior actress). Oh, and I hope that both ladies (Kat and Beth) submit in leading category because they’re co-leads. There’s no case for Beth to go supporting. They’re playing title characters and have almost the same amount of screentime. Oh, and there’s a chance after few more episodes I start to like Beth better than Kat.

I think the second episode failed on a number of jokes, lots of them were cliché, lots of moments weren’t the best directed, but I agree with Slam that everything stayed the same from the first episode.

The only real moment when I laughed was at the final moment when Caroline didn’t want the horse to see her because he didn’t know she was a waitress yet. Everything else fell flat but you can tell there’s a good show there.

Also, Whitney Cummings might still be involved in this second episode, and her jokes might be the dirty ones, but that doesn’t mean Michael Patrick King gets off easy with the ridiculous ammounts of puns. The lesbian “les be im in” pun was extremely Sex and the City. Move forward Michael…

I agree that a lot of the jokes this week fell flat, but it hasn’t soured me on the show. It’s extremely rough around the edges, but charming enough in its best moments that I’ll stick with it.

I once again really liked this episode. Also for the first time, I think Beth Behrs really found her place in this series. But seriously, Kat Dennings is really working hard for that Emmy nomination, and I am beginning to think it is going to pay off. She is on-the-floor funny in this series. I just wish the category wasn’t so crowded!

Overall, yet another really funny episode.

Sorry, I’m out. I couldn’t get through the 3rd episode. It’s just not very good. I want to like because I think Dennings is fantastic and have been a fan since I saw her on “Sex and the City”, but this show is just an unfunny, uninspired, and bland sitcom that is relying too heavily on raunch.

This one really didn’t work. Even more jokes fell flat. Beth Behr did a nice job in this one, though

There was a goof in the episode when Caroline came in with the nails done, she left her white purse on the stool like she usually does (and nobody steals it) and when they cut to her and Max going into the fridge the purse was just gone.

This was a fun episode to watch. The chemistry between Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs really shined here, and it was nice to see them really enjoy one another’s company. Though they were both fantastic, I have to go with Kat Dennings as the MVP again. She was hilarious in the scenes with Caroline’s house.

It was a very good episode whenever the manager wasn’t in it.

That guy is so annoying and cliché it really isn’t funny at all. The cook is also right up there with him, it would be much better without the two of them.
