i am definitely watching this!January 6, 2012 at 9:12 pm #235948
I am very intrigued by the premise of the show. The cast is really strong. I am especially looking forward to seeing how Sam Neill and Jorge Garcia are on the show. I really hope it turns out to be good.January 7, 2012 at 3:33 am #235949
I’m kind of anxious that this will be another Person of Interest (interesting premise, boring procedural), or that it takes a season and a half to get really good (ala Fringe), but I’ll definitely be watching. I missed Jorge Garcia.January 14, 2012 at 2:58 pm #235950
Dunno, I trust some of the writers and Directors that were on the ” Lost ” crew, but the I’m afraid that it will become another ” Terra Nova Fiasco ” if you know what I mean. But I’m also lookfor to the Premiere.January 14, 2012 at 3:27 pm #235951

Did they send the whole season to the critics or only the Pilot?January 14, 2012 at 3:52 pm #235953
Only the pilot. They probably don’t even have the whole season completed.January 14, 2012 at 4:15 pm #235954
They sent the first two episodes, which are airing back-to-back on the same night.January 16, 2012 at 8:54 pm #235955
This show already has me hooked. The cast is awesome, and if the first two episodes are any indication, then this will be a fun series to watch. I enjoyed both the “Pilot” and “Ernest Cobb”. I enjoyed “Ernest Cobb” a little more. The storyline was stronger, and the ending of the episode was a surprise to me. I really didn`t see that coming. I also liked the fact that the episode was directed by Jack Bender. The “Pilot” really did a fantastic job getting things all set up though. I`m interesting to see where the show goes in the future.
“Ernest Cobb”: A-January 16, 2012 at 9:28 pm #235956
Just Watched it, liked a lot, amazing cast, Also enjoyed “Ernest Cobb” more than the Pilot, but one thing has come to my attention, just like in lost, what an amazing score this show has, felt in love with it, really great music and the cinematography is also top notch.
I thought they would go with the ”case of the week style” but I see now that it is all connected, very curious to find out how the hell they didn’t aged and why and how Emerson has the cash and influence to make that new jail and the whole operations to put all prisioners back there again… I missed a little suspense but that sometimes is good, if they will not go to the dark-fiction side… there’s no reason for silly suspense, though like every nerd I really would love to see some “Lost” suspense there…. sorry lots of “Lost” feelings here

I also watched both episodes and liked them both, though I’m not totally bowled over quite yet. I do see a lot of potential. The premise and as you say the setup and mystery to Sam Neill’s character seems a little clunky so far, but on the other hand it’s good that they didn’t overload the first episodes with too much background- let us find out about it gradually. I’m not really feeling the badass female lead yet, but hopefully she will grow into her role- I already love Garcia and Neill. I’m curious- as they catch each convict, are each of these actors going to come back and be shown in the jail cells each week, possibly to help (maybe reluctantly) with each case? Or, more probably, we’ll only see a few of them once in awhile. I’ll keep watching!January 17, 2012 at 1:43 pm #235958
Love the show so far. Sam Neill really nails that menacing lookJanuary 19, 2012 at 6:43 am #235959
I watched the first two episodes today and thought it was good enough to come back…for a little bit.
The show is still Abrahms and Co.’s stupid and constant need to come up with a show that has “the mystery” and I’m not getting tired right now, I was tired of it while Lost was on the air. I left Fringe because of it in season one, I didn’t even bother with Person of Interest after the pilot ended and I’m comming back for Alcatraz because I liked the actors and I gotta say, in all fairness, I’m intrigued by this idea.
But if the whole “secret” and “who are they” and “the 63” thing doesn’t get at least a tiny bit resolved soon, I’m done and I’ll come back after everybody says it’s good and that way I’ll have a ton of episodes to catch up on and it’ll be fun. If not, then whatever, I knew it would happen, I’m glad I didn’t bother.
The final scene of the second episode with Parminder Nagra being somebody else in the past and also looking exactly the same in the present got me and that’s why I’ll come back. I also thought Sarah Jones was a good lead as was Sam Neill.
I’m gonna hate myself for saying this, because I love him to death, but Michael Giacchino shouldn’t be scoring this show, the music is so identical to Lost’s music, it’s almost embarrassing.
Grade for both episodes: B
