Great to have TV’s best animated series back. The first episode was a little spotty for my taste and seemed overstuffed. Plus, I don’t watch Bob’s Burgers, so I’m not sure what I was supposed to get out of that opening parody.
The second episode was back to form, with some great random plot turns and one-liners, making full use of the cast and a nice guest voice spot from Timothy Olyphant.
Now I’m just waiting for some Woodhouse and the return of Cheryl’s ocelot.
First off, thank you for making this thread, adamunc.
Anyhow, the Bob’s Burgers thing from the first episode worked really well for me. Bridging H. Jon Benjamin’s shows like that was kind of a clever move. The first episode was hilarious, but admittedly scattered. Nothing awful or worrisome, but not the show’s best.
I couldn’t get into the second episode as much, but it was still really good. The end made it all worth it, and it served as a nice reminder of how great this show really is and how far it’s willing to go. Very good.
Renewed for Season 5 and setting highs in ratings this year!
Tonight’s guest voice: Anthony Bourdain. That has the potential to be epic.
Other tidbits: the show will enter in Outstanding Comedy Series for this year’s Emmys (no shot, but oh well) and Jon Hamm will guest-voice on the two-part season finale.
