Here we go again… for better or worse.

Confirmed guest actors (only new ones):

    Kate McKinnon
    Ed O’Neill
    Glenn Close
    Kyle Chandler
    Neil deGrasse Tyson
    Joe Buck
    John Cougar Mellencamp

    Confirmed episode plotlines:
    – Peter, Cleveland, Joe and Quagmire go to Korea, and find out Quagmire was a big soap opera star over there.
    – Chris becomes a registered sex offender.
    – Stewie gets his first nightmare and Brian ventures into his brain to recover the root of the problem.
    – Peter and Lois buy a new mattress! (I am dead serious)
    – Stewie and Brian opens up an Italian restaurant and meet up with Frank Sinatra, Jr. again.
    – Peter accidentally raises the legal drinking age to 50.
    – Brian and Stewie get hooked on Adderall.
    – Peter meets his long-lost sister, voiced by Kate McKinnon.

The Comic-Con FG panel had a preview that ended with a list of planned titles and airdates:
9/27 – Peternormal Activity  (a rabid cat threatens Peter & Lois)
10/4 – Pilling Them Softly  (Brian and Stewie hooked on Adderall)
10/11 – Papa Has a Rollin’ Son  (apparently something to do with Joe’s son Kevin)
    10/18 – Guy, Robot

(The only reason I can think of why 10/25 might be missing is, Fox might want to air both of The Simpsons Halloween episodes (Treehouse of Horror XXVI and Halloween of Horror) that night, presumably with new Halloween episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Bob’s Burgers as well (FG just doesn’t do Halloween very well), and it’s a Fox NFL doubleheader day so they only have the 8-10 PM timeslot in which to air them)
(11/1 is a World Series date)
    11/8 – Peter, Chris & Brian
    11/15 – A Shot in the Dark
    1/3 – Candy Quahog Marshmallow!

Seeing as how they basically said “Screw you” to last year’s episode order by airing a surprise episode in the middle, I don’t trust this as far as I can throw it.

The season premiere: “Peternormal Activity”. The guys go to an abandoned asylum seeking inspiration for a new horror movie idea, but end up accidentally killing a man they think is keeping them hostage. Wracked with guilt, they each try to pin the murder on someone else. Meanwhile, Stewie is on a mission to destroy Brian’s glasses because he’s annoyed by how prententious Brian’s been acting when he wears them. John Cougar Mellencamp guest-stars!

Then the following week: “Pilling Them Softly”. Stewie is diagnosed with ADD and prescribed Adderall, which Brian takes to write a 2000-page proposal to pitch to author George R.R. Martin at a book convention. Meanwhile, Quagmire and Peter compete, Iron Chef-style, to determine which of them gets to keep his new cooking show.

Is it just me, or does the second episode rip off both the first and second episode of The Simpsons in the new season?

I will never not love this show. It doesn’t matter about anything. I will always love it

I feel the same way about The Simpsons. Family Guy… eh. I still like it.

    “Pilling Them Softly”: eh? C
“Papa Has a Rollin’ Son”, I actually thought it was decent and had a pretty poignant story. B
    “Guy, Robot”: again, eh? C

and now “Peternormal Activity” which was on last night. I liked the Brian subplot a lot better than the primary subplot, but both had some pretty humorous moments. I would say B-.

This is by far my fav epiosde of the season thus far. The music video and Peter’s reaction to the first music video were hysterical. My grade: A+

The episode was decent. I always felt like they should’ve let Quagmire stay in Korea, and felt some of the stereotypes in the episode were a bit too much, but I thought it wasn’t… awful.

    C+
