Very underrated and not much appreciated, the very good HBO’s dark comedy returns November 9th, 2014 on HBO.

Such an underrated gem from HBO. Besides, anything featuring Laurie Metcalf is always worth a look.

My favorite new show from 2013 right here! Thanks for opening this thread by the way.

Having watched the original UK version back in 2012, i’m so glad for the casting choices made by HBO for this version. Laurie Metcalf and Niecy Nash are by far the standouts, and i hope this season HBO will at least attempt to promote this show. They really dropped the ball on this one last season.

Really thought Laurie Metcalf would get an Emmy nomination  for season 1. But it wasn’t meant to be.

This show deserved Emmy nods last year and thought Laurie Metcalfe would have been a shoo-in.  Everything about this show is phenomenal and glad it got a second season!

Episode 1: No Such Thing as Idealized Genitalia

In the second-season premiere, Dr. James’ research projects are all over
the ward. Meanwhile, DiDi lobbies for a raise; Patsy’s “Lean &
Green” initiative doesn’t go over well; and Dawn finds out what’s wrong
    with her.

I watched the first season again last evening. Between this and The Comeback, tonight is going to be a fantastic evening for HBO.

I’m so glad this got a second season, and this episode did not disappoint. Phenominal dark comedy.

Compare Laurie Metcalf’s work here with her work on The McCarthys. Two very different roles in very different shows. The woman knows comedy!

Alex Borstein was amazing tonight. I could see her coming in for Supporting Actress with this episode at the Emmys.

Despite the Emmys that she’s won she’s still one of the more underrated comedic actors over the last three decades. She really understands the world of whatever her performance inhabits, which is of course key for any actor but particularly important in comedic performance.

I liked the premiere well enough. Not comparable to the few best episodes from season one but still good. It’ll be really irksome when all three women are snubbed.

Watched the premiere episode of the new season thsi morning. Metcalf’s scene in the bathroom was comedic gold. And Yes, Borstein was fantastic as well. So happy to have this gem of a show back.

I loved the premiere! It was very strong and had much more character development than any episode last season. I feel that this season is going to be even stronger than the first. I’m so glad that it’s back.
