Hannibal Season 3 Has a Premiere Date! (Also Here’s NBC’s Summer Schedule, BUT HANNIBALTHO)
By Kaitlin Thomas
NBC has just announced a handful of summer premiere dates, and it must be my birthday, because Hannibal‘s is at the top of the list.
Grab your calendars and get excited, because Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) will resume their delicate dance on Thursday, June 4 at 10pm when the show returns for Season 3 and Will tracks the good doctor to Europe. Yep, the show is moving back to Thursdays, and the premiere will reveal who survived the mayhem of the Season 2 finale. And based on the first promotional photo, it may alsousher in a new wardrobe for Hannibal, who appears to be blending in with his new surroundings by wearing sexy leather moto jackets:
And speaking of Anderson, here’s a first look at what Bedelia Du Maurier is up to at the moment, courtesy of series creator Bryan Fuller:
Okay, she’s just standing in the rain, but still. HANNIBAL, you guys!March 7, 2015 at 12:51 pm #342893
I love it so and am sad I have to wait so long but I am glad that it keeps getting renewed and at this point NBC probably has no chance but to keep it on the air.March 9, 2015 at 3:04 pm #342894
Zachary Quinto will guest star.March 9, 2015 at 7:16 pm #342895
Oh no, stay away from this show Quinto! go ruin something else!March 12, 2015 at 11:12 am #342896
Because of the source material, I think this season will be even better than last season! I do hope it starts to gain traction at the Emmys. It’s a real shame last season was completely overlooked.April 3, 2015 at 8:37 pm #342897
In the trailer below, which features the first footage from the upcoming third season, it’s not quite clear how much time has passed since the shocking events of the Season 2 finale—which left the fate of four characters, including Will Graham and Jack Crawford, up in the air—but it appears that Will (Hugh Dancy) has recovered from his injuries and is tracking Hannibal in Europe.
As for whether or not anyone else survived that night at Hannibal’s place, well, that’s anyone’s guess. The trailer doesn’t give much away, but it does feature Mads Mikkelsen wearing a pretty baller leather jacket. I think I finally understand what ‘shipping is, because he and that jacket were made for each other and should stay together forever. It’s a nice change for a character who’s almost always the textbook definition of “put together.”
Has there ever been a more chilling moment than Will’s, “I forgive you?” Of course there has, this is Hannibal we’re talking about, but holy crap! How does NBC expect us to wait until summer for Season 3?

Who do you think lived? Who died? And what do you plan on doing to survive the coming months without Hannibal?May 6, 2015 at 4:56 am #342899
this show… i just don’t get it!
i’m halfway through season 2 and for all i’ve seen it’s just a gore procedural drama. i think some of the performances are good (the mvp of the show is easily mads mikkelsen), but the plots itselfs… ugh i kinda liked the whole “will is piper chapman” first arc of season 2 but i don’t see how the show can go beyond.May 6, 2015 at 12:03 pm #342900
I gotta say that one of the best decisions they´ve made, and the thing that has me most excited is Gillian Anderson as a regular. She´s been one of my favorite things about the show from day one, and it always hurts that she is on so little. Her performance is pure, pure brilliance.May 8, 2015 at 4:15 am #342901
I’ve been trying to watch Hannibal since it started, but could never get into it. Now that Gillian Anderson will have a bigger part in it, I’ll make more of an effort, because, in my totally biased opinion, she makes everything better. Let’s see if I can catch up before the new season begins.May 28, 2015 at 8:32 pm #342902
Is anyone else excited that the Hannibal season 3 premiere is a mere week away?
Hannibal is simply masterful television and is truly one of a kind. I am still shocked that a broadcast network can/would aire a show such as this. I know The Good Wife is routinely considered the best show on broadcast TV, but I think Hannibal gives it a good run for it’s money.
Hannibal is one of the most visually arresting, artistic, and gorgeously made shows I have ever seen. Rarely have I seen a show so gorgeously and decadently shot, almost frame for frame. Whatever they are spending is money well spent as Hannibal truly has a unique visual style all of it’s own.
And yes, Hannibal is not for the faint of heart, but that is part of what I like about the show. It celebrates and revels in the macabre, grotesque, and graphic like few other shows do. And despite the graphic nature of the show, it never feels cheap or not earned. Or unlike what has become the trend in so much of Hollywood this past decade, Hannibal never feels like mere torture porn. There is a purpose for all the gore and blood on the show, and it always pays off.
I have often said that Vera Farmiga and Freddy Highmore are the best one-two punch on TV. Few tv pairs can rival the two of them, but Mad Mikkelson and Hugh Dancy come close. Even though we know what will happen in the end, their game of cat and mouse is still fascinating and well worth watching.
Oh yeah, I am also very excited to see that Gillian Anderson is now a series regular. She has always shined in her appearances on the show. It will be great to see more of her and to see her spar with Hannibal.
I kind of wish they would have kept it on a Friday night. It was a great show to stay in and watch on Friday nights and it was kind of protected from having to worry about ratings as well. I will still watch it on any night, but I am curious to see what moving to Thursday night might mean for it’s future.May 28, 2015 at 9:03 pm #342903
Season 2 was for me one of the best season I watch in my life until now. I love everything in this show!June 5, 2015 at 1:28 am #342904
How is that we’re not talking about Hannibal?! Shame on us.
Thoughts on Antipasto? A tasty entrée of what the first half of this season have for us. Love the dynamics, love the development, love how still feel like our series even when it’s so foreign to the rest of episodes. Bold start in a subtle way.
